Rupert Murdoch and Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal have one of the closest international business relationships in media. They own sizable chunks of each other’s media companies, News Corp. and Rotana, and every few months seem to be announcing some new project to bring their companies closer together. In fact, just yesterday, the prince headed a News Corp. board meeting aimed at strengthening ties of that company and his own, Rotana, the Arab News reported today.
So of course it was hard for frequent “Fox and Friends” mocker Jon Stewart to resist pouncing when Dan Senor went on the show yesterday and raised alarms that the organizer of the Park 51 project had received money in the past from the prince’s charity. Yahoo!’s John Cook had turned up the funding tie last week.
Stewart concludes: “If we want to cut off funding to the “terror mosque,” we must — together as a nation — stop watching Fox. It’s the only way!
One hand shakes the other.... Ironic, isn't it?
