lol so this is a problem started by Kennedy in 64 and since then the Reps haven't been able to fix it?

anyway try to make more sense please

and I never claimed that my interpretation of facts was more important than yours. I'm just saying stick to the facts. Has anything changed depending on who's in office? No. So quit yammering on about the Democrats. Your obsession is showing.

This is in reference to what ? Shall I use crayons?

Obssesd ? You meant to insult, you failed. Yes I am very concernd about my Country, so are many others

That's why I mentioned the Kennedy bill in 64 as it was a drastic change in our immigration policy. The democrats have controlled the house and sensate longer than Reps and generally back illegals in their quest for Rights, Welfare, Medical, Care and chain Immigration.Which I feel they are not entitled to since their ILEGALS   It is a Toxic topic to all politicians because although most people will be inspired to vote if they are hurt by a policy but few will bother to vote if something isn't hurting them or is hindering some one else. All that may change.

Insult wasn't my purpose, far from it. I just feel that the immigration "problem" - if indeed it is such - is one on which both parties share the same policy. If that weren't true, I see no reason why the Republicans couldn't change anything on their terms 'till now. Especially with all the changes from 9/11 onwards, fucking Patriot Act and shit... It's my understanding that during that time they could change practically anything. And to an extent they did. Mind you with all that security craze back then it was only logical that something might be done to prevent people from coming in to the US unchecked. Blaming the Democrats and Teddy in '64 must mean you have an explanation why such measures weren't taken. So go ahead and draw it up for me in your crayons.

I want the strongest measures taken, and take offense 1st on those who were the weakest.

Did I want Bush to Send Apaches and BlackHawks down to patrol the borders - yea.

Alas Bush never said he was a Heavy Right Wing or even Conservative, He said he was Republican and " a Unite-er "

Just like That " A Unite-er"

that was a clue that he would seek middle ground.

Still I will blame the people who did the most damage 1st. particularly if they did it for hypocritical self serving reasons at the expense of the people the said they were serving. I think Ted should be dug up with a back hoe and removed from the hollowed ground of Arlington and buried in a land fill -  Maybe I am a little obsessed.

Well amnesty for Illegals is a great thing. Everyone should be drooling over it and then they won't be illegal anymore. They'll be tax payers and that's my only problem with them.

The biggest problem with granting amnesty is that it would set a precedent that would encourage a large portion of Mexico to move here -- even larger than the portion that already has.

Our system would not be able to handle a burden that large -- regardless of whether they are paying taxes or not.

They pay income tax if they work at any normal job like a restaurant. If they're working off the books, it's different, but millions of naturally born American citizens work off the books and I never hear any griping about them.

I'm pretty pissed about waiters getting away without paying most of their taxes.

That's not true at all john.  Sales tax is a whooping 10% but most get their clothing from charities and food from either their job or charities, most squat somewhere(like in legal residents section 8 housing). Again when talking about Illegals I've never said Mexican, it's always been about all of them. John take a trip over to Hoboken from New York one of these days and ride the light rail towards the 9th ave, you'll see the shanty towns that they've built up for themselves.

Living outside or illegally somewhere is also nice because if they get sick they can just show up at hospitals and get taken care of. It's really no wonder why places that are heavily populated with Illegals are all on the verge or going bankrupt?  The Jewish people too all turn their houses into Temples to avoid taxes.

Also if we've come up with a better taxing system we wouldn't have to worry about it. You know something that was fair and didnt' crush the hard working american person.

What?...  John, I don't think you understand how illegal labor works or how filing income tax does as well.  You only pay income tax if you file.  If someone is illegal, it's kind of hard for the IRS to come after them because they already are "off the books" if they aren't a citizen or aren't working with a visa.

Payroll tax is the closest thing to income tax that an illegal would pay, and that's only assuming that the illegal is using someone else's SS #.

As for citizens that are working off of the books, I can see where you're coming from, but the issues around illegal immigration encompass a lot more than just dodging taxes.

Actually the IRS will take illegallly filed tax returns and their money with no care.. It's just that they don't do that.

He said he was going to.

He hasn't yet.

And the number he said he was going to send wasn't much better than sending none at all.

I already replied about this in another thread but I'll post it here again:

AZ asks for 3,000 Nat'l Guardsmen; gets 30 via http://www.drudgereport.com/

So technically he did send 30 troops to stop the illegal flow of aliens into Arizona, not zero.

I believe every ones point is they take out of our system more than they put in it. The Big End of year TAX number is the issue.

No one is debating whether we collect sales tax on the Burger King purchase or DVD rental.  Take California as an example.

90% of people in this country take out more than they put in over their lifetime. Should we kick out all the poor people? How about those simply making under six figures?

I just love this. How did you make this jump " Should we kick out all the poor people ? "

Then comes the Class envy disguised as compassion " How about those simply making under six figures ? "

Why didn't you segway into a little implied Racism ?

Considering that the median wage in America is around $40k, and 47% of Americans pay no income tax, one can safely assume that those making under approximately 39k per year do not pay any federal income taxes. Add in the people that work off the books and you've got about half the country not paying a dime. So, you picking on a minority group just makes you look like a retard for ignoring the bigger picture/problem while scapegoating a group that can't defend itself. You're playing the role of bully.

Instead of parroting whatever opinion you retain via osmosis from TV, how about doing a little research, go outside the tiny mental box you've placed yourself in, and actually take a look at the issues instead of being a mindless soldier in whoevers army it is that you've joined for a misplaced self esteem boost.
