its pretty hard to get used to. the chopper will always start spinning upwards clockwise (right) if theres no pilot. so if it spins right, put the nose of the chopper left of ur target, then press f2 and right click then fire away. make sure u go back to pilot (f1) so ur altitude doesnt rise. chopper has same air mechanics as jet, if u go to high u WILL lose control. sry for no pix or anything, this best i can describe.

This is in the wrong forum, this forum is about the site www.bf2s.com - BF2-Help is just under this section..

You twist the heli alittle to the side, switch seat and press the alternate fire button.. By the time you have done that, the chopper will have twisted so that when you fire the TV-Guided missile it will fly straight towards your target.
When you have destroyed the target you switch back and resume control of the chopper.

Practice, practice, practice!

Always note that the heli spins to the right when there's no pilot. So level up the chopper, make sure you're high enough and clear of any obstacles, aim about one finger spacing to the left of your target, press F2, right click and fire away. Then right click again and F1 to switch back and resume flying. Once you're skilled enough you can even tv missile while the heli is high in the air and nose facing straight down, "dive bomb" a target and then resume flying... if done right you won't lose much altitude at all.

So far I have only tried this tactic a handful of times.  You have to turn pressing F2, right click, and left click into one pretty smooth motion.....because the chopper starts to spin quick when you switch over.  I still have yet to hit an enemy though, and the one time I did hit what I was aiming for, it turned out to be friendlies that had stolen the enemy chopper.........'doh'.  I guess I'll have to practice more than the 5 or so times I've tried it.

I actually kinda suck at the TV missiles.  I have so little practice with them, cause generally if I let someone else fly, they suck........so I always end up flying cause at least I can do that relatively well.

this sometimes works: spin your chopper anti-clockwise slightly and take the thust off. Quickly swicth and fire, normaly there is not enough time to guide the missile before "........ is no more"

Takes a lot of practice but it can be done. Alternativly: get a gunner

Why don't you simply let another guy in your chopper and fly together? You won't have to switch.

I'm not sure if anyones mentioned this, but if you rotate about 20-30 degrees to the left (as in tilt your chopper along its length axis) and then switch to the gunners seat, it wont spin out of control. The right turning tendency will counteract the left lean, and you can even use the gun with some degree of accuracy. Not that I advocate this, because I hate single seating gunners

I don't know if you want to learn how to do it now.  Isn't the patch fixing this sort of thing?  Like if the person isn't in the pilot's seat, the helo's just going to fall instead of spin?  Not that I agree with the patch, because I love taking out helo's by myself.

Unless you'r name is redux

You might also want to tweak your controls so that you can easily switch back and forth between pilot and gunner..

And you could always bind keys so that one key takes care of the switching seats/alternate fire/and fireing the missile

I am not sure if they are taking it out in the next patch or not... Although it would be a good idea. I myself have tried dual positions, and yes, it is VERY effective, but it takes a lot of practice. If you roll your chopper 20 - 30 degrees AND tilt forward 20 - 30 degrees, it works, and you can gun. Very good if you have stolen the enemy chopper and need to gun for yourself.
