Finray says:

Amyy says:

Finray says:
Whaaaat? You haven't seen Pulp Fiction? That's like saying you've never heard The Beatles, or heard of Madonna.
I seriously suggest you go download it, like, now.
Amyy says:

Finray says:

Amyy says:

Finray says:

Finray says:

I know you're going to shoot me for this.. but I really prefer the skate scene, at least for videos. Everything seems so much harder to do, harder to get perfect and land. Skaters may not have the same "style" and "fineness" as bladers, but I reckon the overall skill level is a lot higher.. but I guess I can't really say, having never been pro at either blading or skating. The culture behind blading seems a lot cooler, I'll admit, but you can't doubt the skill in, say, Rodney Mullen (even though he is about 60) when he's pulling off some flatground stuff. Simply amazing, I can't even think how I would do it. Then I look at blading videos, and I can tell how you would be able to do that stuff, I mean I highly doubt I'd be able to do _any_ of those tricks, but it seems a lot less impressive compared to skateboarding.

does anyone put jellybabies in their mouth, suck them then spit them out?

With some of those moves and stances, I feel like one wrong move, one little slip, could tear up every ligament and tendon in both knees and ankles

blading is all about steez: doing technical, complicated stuff but making it look effortless - no sweat - smoothe
skateboarding is all about hucks and rawness: making big tricks that look gnarly and thrashing around on a board
i'd say, as a rule-of-thumb, that skateboarding is much harder to get off the ground- figuratively and literally - in the first place, i.e. learning the basic ollies and flips and stances, getting your balance and sense of confidence. blading is relatively easy to just strap on and go. but, in the street and park disciplines at least, blading has so much more finesse, refinement and style at the top-level. i can't speak for freestyle or flatland or whatever you want to call it in skateboarding cause there is no parallel in rollerblading... that shit is hardcore for balance and practice. but just generally. obviously it differs from person to person with their preferences, and which scene you're more into.
i just dig rolling cause i can put on some skates when im vexed, stressed or bored, hook-up my iphone and cruise around popping easy stuff, making it look good-- with no worry of falling and smashing my pocket-gadgets . or, other days i can roll up to a skatepark with mates and beat myself to a pulp for 6 hours going for huge shit and trying to push my own envelope. also, i can roll around my uni campus and around my local town without feeling like a dick. sad fact that the public perception of skateboarders is that they're little fags with bad attitudes, rude punks, or vandals. again... part of the culture. rolling is kinda hip-hop / ski and snow influenced. boarding comes from this whole punk-thrash-surfer-rock thing.
ive posted this before but i think it's pretty much my favourite example of style + big hits in one. this guy is one of the best-friends of the purple-shirted mike guy. tight crew, they're all fucking amazing and seem to somehow have about £100,000's worth of photography and filming equipment, too. fuckers.
