My Terran Build
10 Supply Depot
13 Barracks
15 Orbital Command/Refinery
Marines till 19 Pop. then call down extra supplies on first depot
Upgrade to tech, build marauders
Second Supply depot
Make sure to keep a steady supply of SCV's. And when you are in battle, have a force for retaining your defense.
Defense:
5 Siege Tanks
2 Bunkers (2 Marines/1 Marauder)

The only person i've seen use the extra supply well is LiquidTLO and even then he usually does it to fast expand. If your playing fairly standard then the energy is better used on a mule.
Interchangeable, the SCV that is occupied by building the extra depot can harvest close to as much as the MULE, because he lasts longer. I've also started building a second depot instead of calling down supplies, and using the energy for a scan on the enemy base.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

Anyone want to help me on the basics of terran? Like, I understand most of the concept, but the finer details are keeping me from being competitive with my friends.

I think it's pretty much wall in / turtle till you get drops then spam a massive attack force with siege tanks mixed in.Bevo wrote:

I still think for beginners and any league below platinum, they should be walling in. You don't need to turtle if you wall in and it still gives you some early-ish protection and prevents scouting.=NHB=Shadow wrote:

But i do love facing the turtle terran as zerg. Just mass expand to every point on the map and break them with waves of units.

I recommend the limited edition strategy guide. Some of the more technical specs may be invalidated later on, but it has plenty of valid tactics, excellent builds and a large spiral-bound booklet with all the launch multiplayer maps. If you're like me and already got the collector's edition, this is a spit in the bucket...and hardbound.

clearly mine is faster since I don't have to build two pylons...
yours is just more secure as you don't risk losing the first pylon to workers...
