1) Make the top of your skull hold all the weight, placing none of it on your ear cartledge.
2) Allow all aspects of sound to be clearly audible, but increase volume not a decibel above that.
3) Without air, ears will sweat and get sticky. Left unchecked, they are vulnerable to dermatitis and eventually psoriasis. Clean them more often. and, if you use them a lot, throw in a break every couple hours or so.
Follow these three rules and you should be able to wear headphones as long as you want.
Mine cost £200.FloppY_ wrote:

And the Steelseries aren't shit.. and tbh I only use headphones when forced to (e.g. parents sleeping)...

So have you worn HD 555s? I assumed not because you said spending that much money on headphones would be "lol".
They're the most comfortable things I've ever put on my head. Earcups are MASSIVE, the headband takes all the weight, and the swede covers make them really nice to the touch.
Gotta spend money to get decent stuff.

Yeah, if I was rich I would easily, without a second thought get sennheiser. They're freakin' uber, but yeah Finray's right you get what you pay for.

I hear that swede covers are really expensive, must be to so with the mass genocide or an entire race of Scandinavians to get the material.Finray wrote:

over-rated, to be honest. for audio quality, anyway. gaming headsets... sure... decent audio equipment in the 555's.Blade4509 wrote:

floppy you are a prime dumbass if you think audio equipment / earphones / headphones are 'ridiculously' priced.
what's different in audio quality from... visual quality?
consider this statement: "lol x100 at spending £450 on graphics..." - when you can get a £20 PCI-slot dedicated GPU.
you can run onboard sound with those £15 sony earbuds from the charity shop... or care about audio quality.
tbh decent hi-fi equipment, shure earbuds and general high-quality gaming-audio / dj / musical instrument equipment has been a HUGE part of the reason why im such an avid lover of music and such an avid listener to generally everything. it's like the difference between playing HL1 with a Voodoo 3 GPU or playing, say, Bad Company 2 fully maxed-out with 2x DX11 cards. sight isnt the only sense.
tl;dr: you're a dumbass, as ever. post was pretty much redundant because it doesn't even need to be highlighted anymore.

btw power-supply has died in one of my samsung pebble monitors... the standard type everyone has here, you know the drill
generally held to be a great monitor but mine no-likey'd being transported to and from LDN 5-6 times a year
developed a nice transistor/capacitor/whatever-the-fuck-it-is-thank-you-freezer squeal/whine noise
now i dare not ever turn it off or let it go into standby because trying to get the picture back is, well...
lets just say its like a 75 year old man trying to get it up on his fifth wedding night

I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.
Sound quality is nowhere near as important as video quality to me tbh...
then again I'm the one who's happy with watching movies in 700mb DVDrip

...so quality isnt important to you at all then.
Sure... I just don't think I wan't to watch something bad enough to spend the time downloading 4gb when the 700mb file is "fine"Winston_Churchill wrote:

700MB scene xvid is total shit. Its blurry as hell, its like watching a movie through a glass of water. At least give the movie some respect and download a SD x264 rip.
Minimum I can watch now-a-days on my monitor at least is 720p.. or DVD from far away.
700MB films don't bother me, either. But if I wanna watch a film, I'll download the 700MB version first in about 5 minutes, then as soon as that's done, have a 720p version queued, so I can switch to it half way through.
There's obviously a clear difference, but it just doesn't matter to me, either.

GLORIOUS!
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
wuts the difference between the two?
One is able to produce much higher pressure and airflow than the other, at the cost of loudness. It's going as my front intake, because my case puts up a lot of air resistance there.menzo wrote:

Freezer it's kinda weird you getting new tech!
I'm so used to it being old shit that you make good

But these shouldn't require any servicing at all, seeing how their MTBF is 150 000 hours. That's 17 years of continuous turning.
EDIT: Oh, and I also got this today:
Finally, mobile Internet without draining my cell phone battery!
