I'm typing this in Internet Explorer.

When I installed the latest update for Mozilla, it stopped working. This really sucks. I don't want to reinstall it, because then I'd have to reinstall all the extensions and other stuff, too. So PLEASE help. Everything works in Internet Explorer, but Mozilla won't work. In Mozilla, I get this:

But in Internet Explorer, it works fine. Please help!

Maybe when you updated there was a notification from your firewall to allow FF access to the internet that you denied or ignored?

I turned off Norton and Ad-Watch, which are my only firewall things. Thanks for the help, but it didn't work. What the heck else could it be??

Restart?

Start -> Run -> cmd -> ipconfig /flushdns     perhaps?

i had this same problem.  for some reason it happened when i wasnt logged in to my DSL account.  however, when i reconnected to it, then FF would work.

weird thing is, i was connected to the net the whole time.

You could try starting Firefox in Safe Mode from the start menu in case something in the profile broke it.

Some networks/routers might need a proxy setting, so you could check Start->Control Panel->Internet Properties->Connections->LAN Settings... and see if anything is configure for IE.  If it is you'll need to copy it to Firefox Tools->Options->General->Connection Settings.

And failing that I'm 50% certain that you can reinstall over the top without breaking the extensions as these are stored in the user specific profile...

Hope that helps.

It wouldn't be a DNS Server problem because his IE works fine...

For the win.

Thanks for the help guys! Heh, all it took was a restart, and then I got a Norton thing asking if I wanted Firefox to access the internet, so when I hit Permit it worked.
