MS Office for sure.  Though my relationship is about 80% love and 20% hate.

I really need to get into OneNote though, I've heard its absolutely amazing for note taking and keeping stuff organized

Open Office because I don't have to dig around to find my MS Office 2007 disk.

It really is, i wish something came close it. If you work with a team where you have to brainstorm constantly a shared Onenote notebook on SharePoint is

Open office by a mile.

Easily the better option.

And it's free.

MS Office, by a long way. Especially the 2007 version.

I find the equation editor on Word particularly useful. I mean, I probably should be using LaTeX but MS Word's editor is perfect for my needs at the moment: Reasonably long documents with equations, diagrams and graphs dotted throughout.

I tend to stick to Excel for plotting graphs for my lab work. I'm meant to be using all sorts of fancy other software, but Excel works well enough for me. It's what am I used to and is quick and easy. The way the graphs paste into Word documents is handy too.

Liq.. The Ribbon? Really.

The ribbon is the height of fail. No company has every failed more than MS in this regard, ever.

Steve Job's fuckup with forcing apple to release the iphone 4 early looks like field of perfectly developed flowers compared to this utter disgrace of a filthy garbage dump that is the ribbon.

Open Office is a wonderful thing. The only reason MS OFfice is installed is cause the fkn retards at uni force us to use access for our database course.

MYSQL and a command line would be better than this shit.
everything i write is a ramble and should not be taken seriously.... seriously.

I like OO, but MS Office's power lies in its ability to be folded into automation and it integration in stuff outside of the office suite. Especially Infopath.

It's not as simple as saying 'who has the better spreadsheet' or 'who has the better word processor'. People who make those are of statements are looking at only a fraction of what the product does. And yes, Access is shit

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Am I the only OOo user on here?

I like it, because I never really do anything that requires the extra features of Microsoft Office.
I'll stand with you. I use both suites, and prefer the look and feel of OO over MO any day of the week. On the shared office workstation, you can tell which documents are mine, because of the format. :P

MO is the more powerful of the two, but my job's not officey enough to justify using it all.

I use MO because thats what I use for/at work and everything has to be compatible. It works just fine for what I do. I am going to be getting a copy of MO '10 soon. Anyone tried or using it? how different is it from 2007?
