I don't have a Battle.net account.

But it's Starcraft so who cares, really?

edit:

And who can't wait til July 27?

On topic though, how is the game?

lol at "it IS starcraft."  seriously?

it IS only the successor to the best RTS of all time.  only.

I'm looking forward to SC2...but I must admit, I'm one of those that's a bit irritated at the removal of a LAN option.  If they make multiple bnet connections from behind a single router work a bit better, then I'll get over it...but if not, that's really gonna suck.

That, and they finally sent me a beta key about 1.5 days before the end of the beta...so I never got to use it!  wtf!

have you used multiple bnet connections from a single router?  i'm sure it'll be fine...it's not that net intensive

I have, but it's always been a bitch to set up.  I'm not worried so much about traffic...just the convenience factor.

just ordered this game... last rts i played properly and enjoyed was company of heroes. fancy something new and fresh

and starcraft 1 was pretty awesome; i remember playing it with friends back when the internet was still dial-up and house LAN's were ftw

Starcraft 2 is new, but it isn't 'fresh' in the sense of innovation. What it is is a really faithful sequel to Starcraft 1, with tons of work put into an even better kind of balance than vanilla CoH.

yeah... that's what i like about it. all of the blizzard games seem to be really consistent... and real paragons of their genre.

ive bought into quite a few RTS games but have always been left disappointed or disinterested in the genre. company of heroes was the last one that i really liked and played online; RTS games are just as bad as league-level FPS games for difficulty when you're a newcomer. i have to really like an RTS game (essentially not-my-genre, at all) to want to get through the difficult beginner-phases of online play.
