I'm cool with taxing people for whatever incurs actual increases in costs of care, but I gotta say... the BMI is bullshit.

The problem with the BMI is that it assumes everyone has a small bone structure like me. The scale works fine for me, because I'm naturally thin. If I was a stocky person, it wouldn't matter how healthy I was, my bone structure alone would put me in the overweight category.

Basically, the BMI needs to be amended to account for variances in bone structures. Then, it would become an accurate measure of obesity and such.

BMI doesn't distinguish between muscle and fat either
A fat percentage is better, I was 6% at my leanest, the tech couldn't believe it and did the test twice.

That's because people (and especially today's generation of teens and young adults), generally, don't know how to cook properly for themselves. Fat ass lardballs are expensive drains on society. They're less productive and they're a waste of medical time a resources that should be spent on people who aren't actively killing themselves. Fast food is poison. Soda is poison. It's collusion between agribusiness and the healthcare industry; fatten 'em up so we can sell 'em pills and proceedures. I'm not a health nut, but I do have the common sense to avoid food that's designed to kill me.

Here in the US, fat people pay higher insurance premiums because they are a higher risk. I don't pay a dime of their upkeep unless they end up on welfare/SS.
