Im on 2020 something on my game, Modric won't improve much over how he is now tbh. Sam is right about Shelvey he does become amazing.
Any particular positions you need players for, might have some suggestions...

although you could help with a few players. how does Dodo of Corinthians go campared to Fabio of Man U? Davide Santon, Raul or Rafael? and how about Neymar, he turns out amazing right?

dont know, dont have it installed atm. just remember his name cause i was looking at englands top ten and he was there, #1! ahead of wayne fuckin rooney!!!

Santon becomes one of the best tbh.
Neymar stats never became too impressive on mine tbh, but think he one of them that still plys well despite this, have a look at Kerrison he always bagged loads of goals for me. And if I remember right Dodo always looked a bit poor physically.
I've got my game installed but i'm so far in that most of the real players have retired by now tho, or are managers etc. so just going on memory.
