I get the concept, but the lack of anything concretely melodic just serves to annoy the shit out of me. like the dudes who played each note an equal number of times in their pieces, what the fuck's the point if it all sounds like a random clusterfuck? Take some code, hit enter until you find out you find "interesting"?

On another note, Underworld released a radio edit of a song from their upcoming album Barking. The song was "Always Loved a Film", which is taken down now unfortunately. Put up on their own YouTube channel and it's come under copyright claim (and they're not signed to a label either, afaik). Anyways... I've become massively disappointed, and I'm not so excited for the release of the album. When they released the final version of Scribble, I thought it was a little too on the uplifting trance rave side, but it was still decent and I assumed it'd be the only one of its kind on the album. Well then Always Loved a Film comes along and it's an even cheesier more uplifting song and not interesting at all. Oblivion With Bells was a step in a great direction for them, and while I wasn't expecting a rehash of that style, I was still expecting them to keep true to their dark and twisted style that has served them well for so many years.

I'll admit I didn't make it to the vocal samples in the first track on the first listen, but in the first ~2 minutes, what would you call melodic? The guitar that begins in the background? And even once you make it to the vocal samples, they're very... Fragmented.
it still has a melody . off-beat samples are fucking beautiful, in my opinion...

It's not the time signature that bothers me, it's the disjointed feeling from the elements with a pitch

Recommend ME some good breaks albums or mixes. I've been a fan of the Stanton Warriors for some time, their stuff is always great. Hell, I even enjoyed a few old Freeland mixes (On Tour and Coastal Breaks). UNKLE's Do Androids Dream of Electric Beats is amazing, and I've been returning to that lately (more specifically, the third mix, Tai; spacey, sample-heavy).
I love breakbeat, but I haven't scoured very deep into it, so I'm sure there's some great stuff I'm missing out on.
