Uh... except that just there.            ^

The new rules look a lot like the old rules. Good that they are linked from the home page.

10.Use proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization to the best of your ability. Failure to do this will result in your posts being taken less seriously, and most likely cause responses to be less than constructive.

I think that ppl that post here from Europe may have a hard time spelling everything properly. IMO if the text explains something then it has done its job even if it is frenetically spelt or what ever. Personally English is suposed to be my second language, My spelling and grammar suxs. Its the content of the post that I take in, not if they should have used a capitol letter at the start of a sentence.............its like being back at school. I know you said, " to the best of their ability" My point is, it shouldn't be a rule, the way its worded sounds like a guide that one.

I have in my days posted on all sorts of forms mostly political discussion forums but never enjoyed time on a forum as much as this one, so something must be going right. Even though its BF2 based we talk about all sorts..long may it continue!!!

I really hope that posts from folks who do not speak "english" as their first language **are** taken seriously even if the punkchewashun, seplin nad grammar aren't correct.  Some times, most due to translation, the meaning isn't quite clear, so ask for a clarification.  Sometimes it just seems like plain bigotry when there is a response to a post like "Were on drugs when you wrote this?"  When it's very obvious that some translation was trying to take place.

However - folks who speak "english" "fluently" had better do their best to make their post correct.  And for goodness sake - if you can't punctuate atleastputspacesbetweenwords, will ya?????

Love the new rules. In fact, they're dynamite!

(Maybe now if people are more careful about spelling/grammar, I won't cringe every time I read a thread)

My spelling "sux" too, i`m from Norway. However it took me 20 seconds to edit the spelling in your post by using the [Check spelling] button.

Like Friluftshund and terrafirma I welcome the rule about descriptive thread titles.

Although it falls under rule 4, a specific rule against comments like "boring thread", "stop whining" is needed. If you don't like the thread then don't read it and definately don't post in it. Such comments bumps the thread and that was probably not the intention, right? Not interesting => let it sink.

however, if the posters of useless threads aren't reprimanded for said threads, how will they ever know not to post crap again?
