mass effect was an easier choice to buy because it's 3rd person and reminds me a bit of dead-space in terms of movement and gameplay. i can get along with that: it's not pretending to be a 'proper' shooter or 'action rpg' as such, so i'm not going to get bitched out at the lack of a brilliant top-notch combat system. fallout 3 and stalker's systems look pretty dire.
It's just "entertaining" I guess you could say. The atmosphere is what drew me in mostly, as with Red Dead Redemption.
Gameplay wise it's very soft, I'll admit.
