You get crooks into office or appointed and they explode their own pay and benefit packages to the point that the city can no longer function.

Listen to this
BELL — One of the poorest cities in Los Angeles County has come under public scrutiny for paying its top officials some of the highest salaries in the nation, including almost $800,000 annually for its city manager.

The city of Bell pays Chief Administrative Officer Robert Rizzo $787,637 annually, and also pays police Chief Randy Adams $457,000 a year, about 50 percent more than Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck or Sheriff Lee Baca make, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Assistant City Manager Angela Spaccia is paid $376,288 annually, which is more than most city managers are paid. Rizzo, who has run Bell’s day-to-day civic affairs since 1993, was unapologetic about his salary, The Times reported.

“If that’s a number people choke on, maybe I’m in the wrong business,” Rizzo said. “I could go into private business and make that money. This council has compensated me for the job I’ve done.”
His has put the city in black only by getting paid by neighboring Maywood to do services they can't afford anymore because of the same shit. Account gimicks creates money that doesn't exist and he will retire no doubt with a 90% locked in even though he will leave the city in ruins.

The guy has been in office since 1993 so how exactly does that have anything to do with Obama?

A fair question.

I say they both are operating on ideas from the book Rules For Radicals.

Bell and Maywood are not the cracks in the ice, they are the proof of bleeding lava making the ice crack. If that makes sense.

Strategic bankrupting of cities with an agenda, in other words.

Sounds like a bunch of crooked guinea grease balls who took advantage of their situation and upped their salaries every chance they could with limited oversight by the community. It happens all over the country and it's got nothing to do with liberal radicalism and everything to do with local municipalities extorting their constituents with doom and gloom about school closures, laid off fire fighters and cops and using that as cover to raise taxes and their own salaries.

Hell, the local county executives on Long Island throughout the 80s and 90s was run by a bunch of Republicans under a guy named Gullotta. He raised taxes to the highest level in the country, gave the cops fat pensions, gave himself a nice salary, drove our bond rating down to junk status and was replaced by another man of italian decent and my former mayor, a grease ball named Suozzi. The county has since gone back to being Republican under a guy named Campano. Notice a trend? The same people who would've been in organized crime a generation ago have immersed themselves in corrupting politics instead.

So again, it's got nothing to do with Obama and everything to do with municipal corruption.

Seriously, there's not much that can be done about this. Give almost any man an opportunity to enrich himself, and he will, regardless of who suffers for it...

More interesting is the fact that nobody cares that the system allows him to do that. It's not a recent issue.

Community organizer?

In the first chapter's opening paragraph, Alinsky writes,

"What follows is for those who want to change the world from what it is to what they believe it should be. The Prince was written by Machiavelli for the Haves on how to hold power. Rules for Radicals is written for the Have-Nots on how to take it away".[1]

Outlining his strategy in organizing Alinsky writes:

"There's another reason for working inside the system. Dostoevski said that taking a new step is what people fear most. Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and change the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution. To bring on this reformation requires that the organizer work inside the system, among not only the middle class but the 40 per cent of American families – more than seventy million people – whose income range from $5,000 to $10,000 a year [in 1971]. They cannot be dismissed by labeling them blue collar or hard hat. They will not continue to be relatively passive and slightly challenging. If we fail to communicate with them, if we don't encourage them to form alliances with us, they will move to the right. Maybe they will anyway, but let's not let it happen by default."[2]

Cloward and Piven’s article is focused on forcing the Democratic Party, which in 1966 controlled the presidency and both houses of the United States Congress, to take federal action to help the poor. They argued that full enrollment of those eligible for welfare “would produce bureaucratic disruption in welfare agencies and fiscal disruption in local and state governments” that would “deepen existing divisions among elements in the big-city Democratic coalition: the remaining white middle class, the white working-class ethnic groups and the growing minority poor.

These local politicians bankrupting small city governments in California are almost all Hispanic, La Raza.
It means The Race. They aren't stupid. They are following the same Rules For Radicals and Cloward Piven bankruptcy methods. They are also being not prosecuted by O's attorney general and they are supposedly being given mass amnesty ( another topic ).

My opinion this Manufactured “Economic Collapse” will bring about riots and chaos in the streets worse than we are seeing in Greece and Spain. I wouldn't put it past this regime to stage another 9-11 or a Waco and blame it on the Tea Party Movement. I am telling you that what we see this fall will not be a double dip recession but a mindnumbingfucking disaster of a financial clusterfuck.

Let me remind you that imo the last real president we had was JFK, and you know what they did to him. Since then presidents have been told what to say and they haven't argued. I told you in another thread that there was clear evidence of all major economic upheavals since 1878 being caused and profited on by the same general bunch of fuckers.

Anyways, assuming Obama is all they say he is. Let us examine;

Alinsky wrote:

Cloward and Piven wrote:

Poor people can advance only when “the rest of society is afraid of them,” Cloward told The New York Times on September 27, 1970. Rather than placating the poor with government hand-outs, wrote Cloward and Piven, activists should work to sabotage and destroy the welfare system; the collapse of the welfare state would ignite a political and financial crisis that would rock the nation; poor people would rise in revolt; only then would “the rest of society” accept their demands.”
The general theory is that at best Obama is spending America into massive unsustainable debt.

So the point was that those local L.A. small shitburg leaders paying themselves 800k per year are doing different thing towards the same end as Obama is; bankrupting government t force change.

Myself, I think the feds, or the central bankers, or whomever exactly is in charge wants nothing more than a nationwide riot as they are eager to try out martial law. Such revolutionary activities would do little more than expand the police powers and overwhelming force would be used ( see Waco ) and more authority would be seized.

That is why you ought to chuck that book Rules for Radicals and get some understanding on what made this country a great place by reading the Federalist Papers.

It's not complicated, it's patently ridiculous. To call this a stretch would be an understatement. Corruption has existed since the first government came into being. If you want to get biblical, Jesus ended up hanging from the cross because he went after the corruption in his own time. It's not anything new. Trying to peg what an isolated municipality in California is doing to some form of conspiracy to undermine the very foundations of our country just doesn't work. Exactly what would the guy have to gain by running his town into the ground? A few years of excessive lifestyle followed by... wait for it... a bailout when his ironclad contract requires the city to pay him out in perpetuity which means they're stuck and will have to go to the state for money.

It's got fuckall to do with Obama and even less to do with Alinsky. This is simple corruption caused by lax oversight on the part of the public.

I used to wonder why California has so many extra regulations for everything.  Now I know why.

There's something about California that attracts some of the most corrupt people in the country.  I guess it must be all the wealth there.  People see an opportunity to whisk away funds from the people, and they end up making decisions that require more rules in place to keep both industry and officials accountable.

This is clearly a case where the city council hasn't put forth the right term limits to keep their city managers accountable.  They need a referendum or something like that to fix this place.

The thing is, even giving you a pass on all of these outlandish claims concerning monstrous and long-term conspiracies with less than zero proof, the comparison with Alinsky is asinine. I seriously doubt you read the book. The book is primarily about how to motivate people and keep them motivated towards a common goal, not how to screw them over. The link with Obama is already tenuous, yes he calls himself a community organizer but that is more about the connotations associated with the term to get him the grass roots support he needed, not that he is actually doing the work of a community organizer. Then comparing these assholes mayors to the same just chucks any ideas of sensibility out the window. They are crooks that don't use or abuse any combination of Alinsky's tactics in the slightest.

Then to top it off you start spouting ignorance about the Federalist papers as if you don't realize they are what represent the centralized government that leads to all this corruption and other nonsense you constantly rail against. The Anti-Federalist papers represent the fiscal conservative, personal rights stances infinitely more.
