The mod that merged this thread the first time has apologised and asked me to repost this.

I think it'd be pretty interesting for people to post their life stories in a somewhat shortened form, sticking to big events and such. I've read a few short stories from certain members and I bet there's some people that have had some pretty interesting lives. Whether it be getting shot, talking to Tupac, becoming succesful and starting their own business or emmigrating abroad to start a new life.

I won't be telling mine, it's too short, sub mediocre and I'm not interested enough in myself to tell it. I'd appreciate if others would care to share their life though. It'll be a bonding experiance, only not gay.

Someone care to start us off?

i'll repost jord, not that a paragraph can summarize over forty years of strange luck and a fun journey . . .

i'm a bit older than the average member. the funny thing with age, and memories - it has to do with associations. i have had a girlfriend, that a certain perfume always reminds me of her. things, places, and the weather don't change - people and technology do. the calender changes, but the way seasons are remain the same.

most of the happenstance events of my life were self-inflicted (like running through a window, high on acid) or dumb luck (two motorcycle wrecks that i lived through, or falling a hundred feet rock climbing), some were chosen (whom i married, and moving to where i live now). most of my life stories are inaccessible until something triggers the memory. some of the stupidest stunts i've pulled were when i was inebriated, and the details don't return until i return to that state. some are down right embarrassing, and some are private.

how i've managed to live this long i'm not quite sure . . .

i moved to Utah from California in 1991. met the girl i wanted to marry - we did in 1993. we built a house in 1997

I was born in 1968 a few miles from where burnzz lives now. My parents were jack mormons who smoked and drank and gambled and never went to church. Oh wait, that was after age 5. My dad was raised FLDS and swore he would never have a desire for more than one wife, but he changed his mind, so my rents divorced when I was five. If they had not I have little doubt that I would be fdls now. So I am grateful.

I was always surrounded by older kids and started doing drugs and having sex very young. My mom tried to get me to be mormon but I had a touchy feely scout master and that soured me on religion. In 1979 we moved to Boise Idaho wheremy step father got screwed on a painting/rain gutter business deal and we returned a year later just in time for the construction and economy bust of Carter. My mom had a sewing and knitting supply, pops was an electrician and my step dad did raingutters. All went broke under jimmy carter. We abandoned our home and moved to california were we had a good life for almost twenty years.

Because of the sexual abuse. the poverty, the excommunicationfrom the church I dealt with ssome major depression. About the age of 27 I got into rock climbing in that sport came close enough to death that I realized I love life, whatever its pain. The Waco murders of 168 of my fellow countrymen by the so called authorities caused me to be somewhat militant in my politics. Then I realized that shit like that is bigger than one man can solve and that the government can create truths by repeating lies and there are enough stupid people that will always side in the majority with  corrupt and evil government.

I was blessed to be a skilled musician and that has always been an open door to friends and acknowledgement.

I now am nothing more than a husband to one and a father of two. I hold no loyalties other than to my friends and family.

Despite my financial troubles currently I have led a most fortunate life and am grateful for every second of it. I still have ghosts. I still deal with some tramas from my youth, like a guy with ptsd, it still fucks with me.

I could die tomorrow having done more and been more places by choice and my own wherewithal than most here. Most.

1981 - Born, Westminster.

Normal school life in SE London. Quite privileged since my dad made lots of money in advertising. Read an immense amount as a child (sometimes 5-6 books a week).

1997 - Started taking lots of drugs and messing my life up. Expelled from school for ranting abuse at a teacher while on Ketamine. Spent the next few years in and out of colleges, taking lots of drugs, going to lots of raves (mostly Drum n Bass), spending a lot of time in squats and so on.

2001 - In an effort to sort myself out spent a couple of months living in France. Worked mostly on vineyards, which helped my love of wine grow. Met a lovely French girl, the first and only girl I've ever really loved, though after I moved back to England we parted ways, but kept in touch and had several liaisons after that (including at her engagement party - she is now married to some prick, I refused to go to the wedding).

2002 - By now had stopped taking hard drugs, did an access to higher education course in Islington and surprisingly got accepted by several decent universities (Imperial and Kings) and some less good ones. Decided I wanted a break from living in London so took up an offer from Sussex Uni and moved to Brighton to study Computer Engineering.

2003 - First year at uni I spent living alone. Not the best idea. I ended up feeling pretty lonely a lot of the time which led to me getting into a string of inappropriate relationships where I ended up using and discarding a lot of women - something I look back on with more self-disgust than when I was abusing drugs.

2004-2007 - Rest of uni life was great. In subsequent years I was living with friends and had a great time. Made loads of great new friends and ended up spending a huge amount of time either in the pub or playing cricket and drinking Pimms.

2007 - Started working in IT, surprisingly predominantly with Apple products, which I had always been a very harsh critic of. Mostly doing hardware repairs and suchlike, as well as some consultancy and deployment.

2009 - Started working for Apple as a contractor, given a permanent position 5 months ago. I now provide 1st/2nd line (1st line for everything, 2nd line for my specialist areas - Servers and Desktop Support) support to all Apple's offices and retail stores in Europe.

Born 197x in Bahrain - Father was out there with the British Govt, he trained as an Arabist and had been around the ME, Beirut, Aden etc.
Spent early years in Doha (memories - hot, Landrovers), then Algeria (getting a piece of glass stuck in my foot, falling down a flight of stone stairs, pet tortoise), then back to the UK.

Started reading early, and voraciously, as a result was bored witless at primary school and labelled disruptive.....

School, depression, university, eight or so years of major hassle - don't trust the establishment or the Police, its fun to knock them flat though - migrated to Australia and work as an engineer, after umpteen years on the critical path of every project I've been part of now looking to do something else.

Fortunate to have met some good people over the years, and some epic cats, prefer the latter to be honest.

Could all have been a lot worse, thankful that they weren't...

I was Born in '75 (1975, that is)

Mum and Dad split up when I was 7 months old, Mum ran off with the guy next door, Dad ran off with us kids to Plymouth for a few months.  Mum and Dad remained very good friends and I never saw them argue, a house/home with arguments is or at least was very odd for me.

My two elder Sisters are 10 years older than me, I reckon Dad panicked and thought 'shit, the buisness, what am I going to do, you dont hand business down to Daughters, just Sons' and thats how I came along.  Truth is the condom probably broke.

Dad would always turn up 12 hours late to pick me up on Fri nights and it would break my heart, I didnt figure until 10 years ago it was because he was here in work, working for Me.

My Mums first next husband (the guy she ran off with) was a cunt.  He battered myself and my two Sisters and my Mum, eventually she plucked the courage up and did another runner.  This time we went to Huddersfield for a month.

My other Dad came along in 86 approx.  What a lovely guy, except he moved us from South Wales to Basingstoke, couldnt see my Dad when I wanted to, had to leave every friend I had ever made behind.  This was in 98, the day of the Hillsbrough disaster.  I went through my last few years in school in Wokingham but it was posh and I didnt fit in.  The minute I could I returned to South Wales to work for the family business.  My grade ment I could of done other things but this is all I ever wanted to do. I have no shame in saying MY DAD IS STILL MY HERO, he's now 74, 4o years older than me.

I met a girl 10 years ago.  Just getting divorced, failed business, two kids already, my family took a while to get used to it.  We had Mollie, who when she was born was born with a condition known as GASTROCHISIS but somehow she survived.  I spent 9 years with them (them being Mollies Mum, Bruv and Sis).  The first split was 95, valentines day to be precise.  Id just stuck £30k into a house, my inhertitance.

£10k deposit
£10k Furniture and Toys
£10k legal fees and clearing her debts from before.

She left me on a Saturday, I brought her two up as my own, and had to look at all their stuff packed up for a week.  I begged her not to do it, cried my eyes out every day but she did.  I went up my Mums for the weekend.  On the Monday phone rang it was my Mum 'Math I got Cancer and its bad'.  We had a lil cry, a lil chat and then the doorbell went.  It was The Ex, stood crying her eyes out, 'what have I done etc etc'.

I told her what she did didnt hurt anymore etc, and fuck off and die.

I got with another girl, 4 kids, council house, just wasnt gonna happen.  I dumped her 6 months later of a Weds, Mum died on the Fri, I got back with Molls Mum on the Thurs.

We re-mortgaged, took loans out on top, I stuck her name on everything except the £9k loan.  We got engaged.  Her Daughter got preggers and that was that really, I knew then it would end again.

I moved out in Aug 2008, house was put for sale, I left all the furniture there, I could of stayed there but both her kids were about to be parents, so I did the honurable thing.  I signed a rent agreement.  She moved out 4 months later to a bigger house and didnt pay a penny, not on any bill or the mortgage.  So since then this house which costs £750 a month hasnt been paid for, not one penny.

I met another girl who I thought I could trust but she was a psycho, someone Id known for 23 years.  The Daughter of my Dads neighbour.  That turned sour, the jealous ex made sure of that.

So for now I have been concentrating on work, Mollie and sport, not in any particular order.  Im not religious, I belive in fate and my own abilities.  I do ok with trust but will only ever fully trust myself.  Ive prayed once and that was for Mollie to make it though her op when she was born and find music and weed help me get through struggles.
