Pretty accurate, is it not?

That's neat and all, but you can do that with just about any school of thought.

True, every group has their stereotypes, but it seems like libertarians often revel in them rather than trying to avoid being them.

Well...libertarian ideas are hijacked by people with a limited personal agenda...leading to the stereotypes.  Like, stoners might say they are libertarian because they want their drugs legalized...but they aren't necessarily onboard with the rest of the ideaology and can become pretty hypocritical.

Nah, John, I'm not really pointing it all at you.  I just felt the need to point out the more extreme idiosyncrasies of libertarianism.  I'm glad you have a good sense of humor though.

True, and that is definitely a problem among both Republicans and Democrats as well...

Now when have I ever said people should read Atlas Shrugged and use it as their bible? Yeah, my screenname is from the book but whatever.

I know a fair few selectively frugals, not all libertarians.

You're not even an objectivist, how dare you wear the name JohnGalt? You should get a name change to something like JohnGutierrez, to be honest.

Because I understand that we aren't our own island and are dependent on others for trading partners if nothing else? While I could probably build my own house, harvest my own food and teach my own children, my standard of living would drop. I, unlike Rand, recognize that I actually do need a certain amount of healthy, educated people in my life so that we may all prosper together. Now, that may sound slightly socialist in nature but the difference is that people have to earn what they want in life in such a relationship rather than be handed it simply because they exist. I don't believe in coddling those who have no societal, or personal, value.

I'll tell you this Macbeth, you feel that 'you keep what you kill' is a good motto to have but eventually you run out of people to kill and you're left all alone. What happens to companies that are known for screwing their clients or who have piss poor customer service? They eventually go out of business.

Take any ideology to the extreme or include questionable people and you will wind up with something to make fun of.  Some of those are pretty accurate to some libertarians, but I'm sure we could do the same with any political group.

Why do people feel the need to pigeon-hole themselves?
The Rep-Dem mindcamps are very tedious.

Because most people are simple minded so they need to condense their beliefs into a highly general category.

How many Rand references can you really make in one comic?

I think its more they don't have any real thoughts or beliefs and so pick a ready made pack off the shelf - even if the bundle is self-contradictory.

It seems to me that the Libertarian party doesn't really have a centralized agenda that their candidates can focus on. I think this list is missing a few hundred subtypes.

True, it is difficult to have a hard agenda when your ideology goes along the lines of "Let the people decide for themselves!"

It's also somewhat counterintuitive to be running for office based on a platform which seeks to reduce the power of said office.

Well aware of that, don't like any of them, don't like the two party first past the post system either

They at least have more than 2 viable parties to choose from.
