IMO people usually take HDR too far. It should be used to enhance or to replicate the subject as accurately as possible. Creative effects are fun, but don't sell your soul for them .

same three exposures. the photshop merge features 'remove ghosting', which is the difference you see in the flags. there is a way to remove ghosting in a photomatix picture- you import into photoshop.
version 4 of photomatix is in beta, and from what i've seen, 'remove ghosting' is new, along with 'remove noise'. Noise is the second biggest problem with HDR, behind ghosting.

i had just read where there are cameras coming out with HDR on demand, i think they will be point and shoot . . .
