Here in denmark you can't use hotspots without a subscription...CapnNismo wrote:
No duh, Skype works on any iPhone. But you can't use the webcam at the moment (unless Skype has pushed out an update that I've not seen in my various tech blogs).Bevo wrote:
It works with skype as well, ffs. You can skype your friends off your iphone 4.
I sometimes think that the only reason AT&T really still exists and hasn't gone under or been bought up has been because of the sales of the iPhone and the contracts that come with it padding their balance sheets. That being said, I am so glad I am in Austria and not the USA for my data plan. I pay €10 a month for 1GB of data and I don't even come anywhere near using that up and I use my phone A LOT. For €15/month I could have 5GB, but even that is relatively pointless since I don't tether my device and there's always a wifi hot spot nearby (one thing that does confuse me - if you're living in a metropolitan area, how are you going over your data limits? Just tap into a hot spot).
Anti-terror & crime law requires providers to log and be able to track all traffic back to the user in case the police need to do so...
which means that the only significant hotspot provider is the biggest tele and internet provider in DK, they charge a monthly fee and then you can use all their hotspots as you wish...
I don't live in a major city so it's useless to me...
