Then don't go to a bar or ask the smoker to stop when you're next to them, I'm sure most would say ok. Why gives you the right to tell someone not to smoke in a bar?
The fact that smoking is so unhealthy... and the fact that the smoke itself is fucking annoying...
You eating a steak is bad for the environment, you using a computer right now is killing the earth, should we ban it too? No government or person can tell another what he or she can do with their own body. Their body belongs to them, not to you or anyone else.

I couldn't care less about what smokers do to their bodies.. as long as it doesn't affect mine, like smoking does!

Unless you are going to take the stance that breathing is an intrusion as much as smoking. In which case we having nothing more to talk about because of the stupidity of that position.
So why not have choices. Where we have smoking bars, and none smoking bars and let the OWNERS(people who pay rent or own the building) decide... So then none smokers can go where they want and smokers can go where they want.

That way instead of your silly taking away peoples rights, you have the choice.
If I am not mistaken an owner has the right to make his or her establishment smoking or non smoking as they see fit.
You are mistaken at least in some states, NY, NJ, CON, MASS, CALI and a bunch more.

I forgot you live in Middlish american, the bans have probably not hit there.

Within reason smoking COULD cause harm. Like to waitresses, bartenders and the like who work in the area all the time(if it's a smoking establishment which we don't have any more).  If you're in it for only a little while you'll be fine.

According to your flawed and discredited theories

If people are too dumb to realise something they're doing is dumb and anti-social then by all means tax them.
So how high should the levy be on your trolling then?

Balance of trade is a holdover from pre-Adam Smith mercantilism. The only reason it is used by politicians and the media is because its an easy concept to grasp (though wrong), and they generally have no background in economics so they don't know better. Shouting about the trade deficit is something that they can use to scare people and sell advertising or win votes, nothing more

It isn't, it is the price you pay for being an obnoxious inconsiderate asshole to all those around you that do not want to breathe YOUR cigarette smoke. You pay a higher tax for them, and you are relegated to a red square in the back lot of a building, and I applaud it.
So, like a liberal, you would impose conformity on anyone that does not fit into the mold you wish them to be in. Interesting. Don't ever make any arguments for freedom on this forum again please, I'll just be forced to point out your hypocrisy.
Nope I applaud the absence of intrusion on life liberty and happiness by anyone toward anyone, ( a very consistent stance I might add) and a smoker intrudes on anothers quality of life against their will in that regard.

You are not going to call me a hypocrite because you idiotically claim it is intrusive to prevent someone from being an intrusion.
Yeah, except I've repeatedly stated that I'm a courteous smoker. You are a hypocrite lowing.

Yes. Bars, restaurants, any public space. You can't even smoke within fifty feet of an entrance to a public building. They've done everything possible to isolate smokers from non-smokers so that we do not invade their space. I don't have a problem with it. I only have a problem with being singled out for taxation.

Well I have a problem with it.. If a bar is a known smoking bar, and a non smokers chooses to go in it, that is on him. If a restaurant is a smoking restaurant and a non smoker chooses to go in that is on him.

What  I'm speaking of is smoking on buses, federal buildings where we all have to do business, etc.... I have no problem with designated smoking establishments.

If you are going to light up and pollute the area with your smoke you are a prick, and no, you should not be told not to do so, you should be aware of the people around you and consider them in the first place.

There's no smoking on buses, trains, planes, in restaurants, bars, stores, gas stations, stadiums... I can smoke on the sidewalk, in my car, in a park, or in my house (or someone elses!). I have limited contact with non-smokers while smoking...

I do love lighting up a smoke and blowing it up babies noses though. IT's fun to watch them zone out.

Honestly though, if you're working for a buissiness owner and he's a smoker and smokes in his bussiness what would you do?

I am for it. As I said, I'm a courteous smoker. If worst comes to worst and I have to be indoors for an extended amount of time (say, at a baseball game), I can always dip (or wear a patch).

My problem is with taxes singling out smokers in an attempt to force them to quit. No one should have the ability to tell me what I can and can not put into my body (legal substances only of course).

Ok why don't you lcok yourself in a garage with as many packs of smokes as you want, light them up and sit there for a while. Then do the same thing with a car, come back and let me know which one is more harmfull.

of that I agree. My only request to any smoker, or drug user, is to breathe deep long and hard and often, and hurry the hell up.

He's probably the perfect picture of health. I picture him walking down the road holding a ribbon around the sun without a care to the world. Cops are beating some person next to him for smoking and they stop to great the great lowing.
