Forgive me if I'm wrong. But why is there so much hype over a product which has simply updated itself to be on the same level as its competitors. As far as I can see, the iPhone has only just caught up with the rest of the market, and yet its being hailed as some great, exciting, new piece of technology.

If you don't like AT&T, then you don't like AT&T. My 3GS is ace on whatever Australian network I want..specialistx2324 wrote:
i have spent enough money with apple, including my 32gb iphone 3gs. bought the 3gs last year in the summer. now after a year later apple comes out with the iphone 4 with more bells and whistles, WITH THE SAME CRAPPY GAY T&T SERVICE. like someone said to me on bf2s( poop dipped in gold is still poop.... not gold).
my iphone 3gs does what i paid for. yep there are limitations ( no flash, adobe, etc). the droid is a darn close contender along with the EVO. but the new features of the iphone 4 does LITTLE TO JUSTIFY a wait in line with $300.00 in cash to get another paper weight. dont want to renew gay t and t 2 year contract either. i had verizon for 4+ years and the amount of dropped calls in verizon within those 4 years is the equivalent to the number of dropped calls in one year of gay t and t.
As for flash. it's shit for mobile platforms. If you want to know why Apple haven't adopted it for their phones..
lol apple

I would do anything for a phone with flash.
Wait, what phones don't have flash these days?HaiBai wrote:

What phones don't have the ability to display flash content?
afaik there are apps for iPhone, WinMo, Andriod and Symbian which is what nearly every device is running these days

html 5 ftw
Well they're certainly popular. The Apple Store site was down for most of the day when they became available for pre-order, yet Apple still took more than 600,000 pre-orders that day.
Apps =/= flash. Go on addicting games and try to play a game on there. You can't. It doesn't even load.FloppY_ wrote:

That's why you use the direct url for the flash app... don't blame the platform for the browser's lack of supportHaiBai wrote:

What? Apple doesn't support flash because it slows down the phone or something.FloppY_ wrote:

About Adobe: They are lazy, Jobs says. They have all this potential to do interesting things but they just refuse to do it. They don’t do anything with the approaches that Apple is taking, like Carbon. Apple does not support Flash because it is so buggy, he says. Whenever a Mac crashes more often than not it’s because of Flash. No one will be using Flash, he says. The world is moving to HTML5.
http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2008/11/adobe-flash-on/Adobe will no longer pursue its plans to bring Flash to Apple’s iPhone and the iPad.
Adobe is reacting to a new rule in the iPhone developer agreement, which stipulates that iPhone and iPad apps must be coded with Apple-approved programming languages, such as C++ or Objective C. If enforced, the rule would effectively ban any apps coded with Adobe’s Packager for iPhone, a tool enabling Flash-coded software to be easily converted into native iPhone apps, released last week with Adobe CS5.
Apple has been steadfast with its lack of support for Flash on the iPhone OS. Some customers have complained that without Flash, iPhone and iPad users are missing out on a big chunk of the internet. Jobs said during a staff meeting that Flash was not supported because it is “buggy” and frequently causes crashes on the Mac OS, according to a secondhand account first reported by Wired.com.

The hype for this has nothing on what the iPad had. The iPad being nothing new either. I guess technology just needs to be crippled and put on a closed platform and made into a roundish rectangle before it is valid in the eyes of the majority of consumers.Little BaBy JESUS wrote:

I have used apple products and own an iPhone and cant see where this "magical" bullshit stems from. Look forward to upgrading my phone soon.
Just bought my Black iPhone 4. $324...
Won't even be delivered 'till mid July.

So far this looks like it is having a far bigger impact on the market than the iPad did.

600K sold on the 1st day - and the online stores were down most of the day because they couldn't handle the volume of traffic.
