I'm not saying that racism or xenophobia are justified, but this is what happens when you have an immigration policy that isn't more restricted.
Cultural clashes inevitably result when a large group of people from a distinctly different culture rapidly enter a country.
If, for some strange reason, loads of British people immigrated to Pakistan on an annual basis, there would be equivalent anti-British groups arising there.
In the long run, the best way to avoid more of these movements from rising in power is to limit immigration more from these countries. And quite frankly, it's not such a bad idea anyway considering that a small but significant portion of these immigrants from Pakistan lean in the orthodox/radical direction.

EDL seem more like a "fuck off Muslims" group than anything else. Didn't watch the video, but I'd imagine 99% of their ramblings is towards Muslims rather than anyone else. It gets worse when the media paint the story as if it's some sort of white people vs asian people thing, ignoring all the non-Asian muslims and the Asian non-muslims and just creating a fuckfest instead.
