Harsh? It's a cowardly decision. If they think he overtook an opponent when not allowed, he should be black flagged - disqualified.

Good news, yankees... no longer shall you have to settle for those weak ass single-spec Indycars.

USA back on the F1 calendar for 2012 (was that one of the signs of the mayan apocalypse?)

The United States Grand Prix will return to the Formula 1 calendar in 2012 after a deal was struck for a race to be held in Austin, Texas.

It's going to be a brand new track and everything. So no details except that it's in Austin, TX

Lewis has a great shot at a win tomorrow. In fact I reckon any of the Top 4 have as good a shot as the other tomorrow - even though the McLarens are on the dirty side of the track, they have the inside line and the extra straight-line speed of their RW80 down the straights could give them great opportunities to overtake tomorrow. Expect the first lap to be crazy!

I don't think so, but I'm gonna expect the final positions to be quite different from qualifying. I know some big names are gonna lose it in turn 8, everyone has fucked up at some point there and it's even more likely with heavy fuel, even for Red Bull. Webber has it in the bag if he can just do a clean simple race. I don't think Hamilton has a chance of overtaking him and properly racing him tbh.

'RW80' is overrated, Webber's RB6 is going to pull a huge gap from Macca in corners like turn 8 and that's not even factoring in the turbulent air and shit.

Righto

wp Vettel, you try and scare others into doing what you want them to do and you're going to end up crashing. Red Bull trying to not point the finger at the moment (including Vettel) but (I hope) it creates a division in the team - remember McLaren in 07? A split halfway through cost them the driver's championship. Plus it adds for an interesting spectacle on and off the track

I hope you weren't being sarcastic. I was spot on about everything except for drivers losing it and flying off the track on turn 8 like we saw all the time before the race.

Webber had an easy race, it was only when he had to go into fuel saving mode and then Vettel fucked him up could Hamilton get past otherwise there was no way Hamilton was going to overtake him if nothing went wrong for him. Hamilton and Button was proper racing. Webber and Hamilton was just half-attempts and such.

And like I said, the F Duct couldn't make up for the extra performance through turn 8, it was clear as day.

Good race though

Vettel is no underdog, people thought Webber would be twatted by Vettel and everyone knew Red Bull would be awesome this season, which they are.

Where they even using the F Duct in turn 8?  Why would you want to stall the rear wing and reduce down force in a corner like that where you need as much as possible?  Maybe you mean it wasnt enough to make up for how much they where loosing in turn 8 which I suppose I would agree with.

Red Bull's F1 chiefs on Sunday backed Sebastian Vettel after the young German's crash with teammate Mark Webber in the Turkish grand prix.

Australian Webber said the sister RB6 turned into him during the overtaking manoeuvre, but team advisor Helmut Marko pointed a clear finger of blame at the 33-year-old and his race engineer Ciaron Pilbeam.

"Webber was slower and Vettel had immense pressure from Hamilton," Marko said on German television RTL.

"Unfortunately, Mark was not told about the situation accurately by his race engineer," he explained.

But Marko was also critical of Webber's behaviour.

"He had radioed the pits to say he was slower on the straights (than Vettel). He knew the situation and had just been informed about the pressure Hamilton was putting on (Vettel).

"Vettel was so much faster than he had to pass. If Webber and he had braked together, then Hamilton would have passed Vettel," said Marko.

Initially, team boss Christian Horner had indicated he was angry at both drivers, but eventually it was Webber who took the blame.

"It looks as though he didn't leave Sebastian enough space. It was very clear he (Vettel) was by his side and in front. But I still have to speak with both of them," said the Briton.

I thought it was caused because as Vettel drew level with Webber, Vettel then turned in ever so slightly, but not actually into Mark. He turned in enough such that the Vettels front-right wheel was running inbetween both of Marks wheels. When Webber then slowed down, this caused Vettel to hit Webbers front tyre from his additional momentum, and then it went from there.

Thats how I read it from the replays on the TV. If you ask me, they were both at fault. Probably more so Vettel IMO.

Not that I care, being a Hamilton fan and all that. Although not as much as that 1 girl in the buildup. Jesus. KP, was that you?

Yeah, I meant the F Duct on the straights didn't make up for the Red Bull advantage through (mainly) turn 8.

At the end of the day, Vettel swerved into Webber. They didn't swerve into each other and Webber didn't swerve into Vettel.

So, Hamiltons on pole. Fuck yeah! Somebody finally broke Red-Bulls stride. Should be a good race tomorrow....that 1 corner where they get to about 10mm off of the wall is incredible.

This will be a VERY interesting race. How much of an advantage will Red Bull and Kubica have with those medium tires? Will the Red Bulls last the entire race - probably on the toughest circuit on the calender? Will Liuzzi get some points? How many cars will cross the finish line?

This could well be the best race all season, cannot wait.

I managed to get some money on Kubica to finish on the podium @ 8/1 - crossing my fingers
