Umm poor people get food stamps, they do not pay taxes.nlsme1 wrote:
So poor people pay no taxes. Pretty sure "poor" people in the US still pay all the taxes you do. Save for employment taxes. They still pay taxes on the things they buy. They pay property taxes for their landlord. You get to claim these things as you paying taxes, yet they don't get the credit?lowing wrote:

I realise there is a difference but are you saying no-one who is unemployed is on welfare? Surely not true. Or, if they are working, then they pay taxes, but earn shit money, so in effect they get some taxes back don't they, if they also receive some welfare checks to help 'em out. Like the people in this article as I understand it.
I am speaking generally, I do not know every unemployed person in the US or their financial status. I can say EVERYONE I know that have had good jobs went on unemployment until they find other jobs, NOT welfare
As far as welfare v unemployment. I know plenty of well to do people that lost their job recently. Don't know any that went on welfare. Why is that? Because when you make over 100 grand a year, you are lucky, and tend to be ABLE to put some aside. I can quarantee you that if they hadn't been ABLE to put some aside, then the 400 bucks unemployment pays would have meant they NEEDED more support. Thank god they were never poor, and were able to do so. How can you expect someone to put away 20% of their earnings to cover rainy days, when their earnings dont even equal their cost of living.
Here we go again, anyone that has made something of themselves is just "lucky", effort determination, ambition drive attitude have got nothing to do with it, it is all luck..I love how the entilted speak of fictional shit like "luck", "fortune", "destiny", while people that get off there ass and do something speak of effort, determination, ambition, drive motivation, attitude. Hmmm might be something to that.
Then get out and increase your EARNINGS. Or why do you think they call them EARNINGS and not GIVINGS
