once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
Yeah.. i like that res, but the only ones like that available over here are made of aluminum, and you don't want that in your loop.
Does this look ok for a completely new build? Am I missing anything? Is there anything on the list that just doesn't fit? Thanks in advance

I'd suggest a 5850, only about $40 more than a 9800GTX, but a fuckload better.
Anything else?Finray wrote:

I thought they came built into cases. I honestly haven't built a computer from scratch in about 20 yearsYellowman03 wrote:

the PSU doesn't come with the antec 900. Usually, the title will say whether or not it has a PSU with it.
okidoki, thanks manYellowman03 wrote:

Here's a combo with a motherboard that supports DDR3 memory for $5 more
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDeal … mbo.390940
Here's 4GB of DDR3 memory for cheaper than the DDR2 you chose

In simple terms, what's the difference between DDR3 and DDR2?ebug9 wrote:

DDR3 is pretty much standard now and if you plan on adding more RAM in the future, DDR2 will be stupid expensive.
DDR3 is standard yes, but watch out for high voltage ones if you aren't going i7. i5's have lower voltage DDR3 requirements. But you are going Phenom, so no worries.ebug9 wrote:

Get a mobo without a intergrated GFX... I'd rather get an i5 750 set up instead of an AMD one tbh... DDR3 tooJohnG@lt wrote:

a motherboard with an integrated graphics card...if you are getting a graphics card (9800) you don't really need onboard graphics. It might be cheaper to find one for that CPU socket that doesn't have one.
But then if the card goes bad I'm completely screwed, no?KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

yeah but by that logic what's the point of even getting a card? Plus most decent cards come with a lifetime or double lifetime warrenty (meaning if you sell it the warranty is still good)
Here's a very good PSU that will be more than sufficient for your setup and allow some upgrades down the line.
Actually I was looking at the prices for i5 (intel) builds compared to AMD... Yeah you're better off with AMD for now.JohnG@lt wrote:
