you tell me $50k a year is 'worth it' after playing 50,000 games for 8 hours a day

tell me and say it as if you mean it after the tax-man comes along and takes his slice out of that $50k haul too (equivalent to what, 15,000 games of your life?)

you could do a lot of other jobs that would pay that pretty-average salary, and enjoy a much better lifestyle

like i said: essentially he's doing the same thing that impoverished chinese wage-slaves get paid to do for world of warcraft. they sit and farm the same monotonous activity all day, which, while seeming 'fun' (i.e. playing a game), ends up being a really tedious and low-paying (on average) profession. honestly i'd rather just pull a 9-5 at the office and coast along than have to 'farm' 15 poker games for hours a day just to pay my grocery bills.

say ive played 130 days so far this year with an avg of 6 hrs a day. thats 780 hrs. the graph i posted doesnt include rakeback and bonuses, which is like another $7k. 37k/780= $47/hr

and i actually like my job

i said i think you've got a pretty decent lifestyle.

my post (which was just my opinion - no playa h8) was more about how people seem to exalt your profession to some status of deserved-admiration. shit, at the end of the day you're just throwin' rocks and shufflin' cards in online internet games. even people like FM talk about it as if it's some russian chess-master shit, or some real MAKIN' CHEESE get-rich scheme. you're making an average salary doing something that some would find okay/fun/a productive use of time, and others... not.

just clearin' that up.

tax it. remove deductibles. remove the shitty-logic of an 'average hourly rate' - you ain't living the lifestyle of someone that makes $47/hr bro. sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. sometimes you're on a streak, sometimes you're in the dumps. you're not dining at the ritz every night because your short 6 hours of work that day netted you a safe, reliable $300 cash. as i said, it's a lifestyle choice. as long as you're having fun.

and you're forecasting those figures on nothingness. you're treating your poker-graph like a dumb banker treated hedge funds. so over time in an aggregate, cumulative sense you're 'making money'. but like i said you ain't living the lifestyle of a 6-figure hustlaaa. you win some and you lose some on a daily basis and that keeps your practical lifestyle curbed.
