Two things

empathy =/= emphaty

Don't agree your definition of capitalism is right, there were quaker businesses for example.
Making money is not bad, its how you do it and what you do with it which determines if you're a robber baron or not.

Never said capitalists don't have empathy ... if you read back it all started with me claiming that when the chase for money is more important than caring for human beings something is wrong ...

Didn't say taxes equals empathy either, I said it was more empathic to society as a whole to pay more taxes than to pay less tax and use more money on charity afterwards ...

Read what I write and respond to that rather than twisting what I write into your own delusional opinion ...

I still stand by the textbook definition of what empathy means, you started bringing up farfetched examples with homeless and taxes ...
and I am not speaking of society. i am speaking of YOU. also you did say very few capitalist have empathy, shall I pull it up? MEMBERS of society are not empathetic either just because they pay taxes....The evil rich pay more taxes than you and I and yet you claim very few are empathetic.  the evil rich are also members of society, that you claim are empathetic because they pay taxes, so again, which argument are you trying to make.
you are spinning your wheels here Varegg. You have made claims that capitalists are not empathetic, and when challenged, you said YOU are empathetic because YOU pay your taxes...Lets keep it simple, this is what you claim, and I call bullshit on all of it, and have already explained why.
You are spinning the wheel lowing ... I said when money means more than people and I stand by that ... you can have rich people that are not die hard capitalists and you can have poor people with no empathy ... it's not this or that, black or white ...
You said very few capitalists are empathetic. YOU are acapitalist. YOU claim you are empathetic and YOU used paying taxes as your proof. The evil rich PAy more taxes than you do, yet claim very few of them are empathetic.

I also showed where YOUR money, YOUR problems are more important to your family than empathy toward a total stranger is. the trajities in a nstrangers life does not alter your life one bit. So get over yourself and your cheap talk about how empathize with others, you do not. You are no different than those you condemn as capitalist hearltess swine.

No I didn't ... you should read back what I stated ... I rephrased my wording once but I still hold the same values as I did before this bickering started ...

And that is as follows: When the chase for money is more important than caring for human beings you have no empathy ... the rest is just mumbo jumbo and quarreling over semantics ...

You know, today I thought about giving $100 to a charity.  But I didn't do it.  But I'm a better person now because I thought about giving away that $100.  So I treated myself to a hooker.

yeah ya did.

"I didn't assert than everyone with capitalistic success are greedy and lacks empathy ... there are capitalists that have a concience but they are few"  <---------you wrote.

But YOU chase money, and YOU hold your finances as more important than any stranger, and why? Because you have responsibilities that need to be met BEFORE anything else, just like the rest of us not caught up in dire straights.

That is as real and as honest as it gets.

I am not quarreling over semantics, that is ruis's job. You provided as proof to your empathy the fact that you pay taxes, that is bullshit. We all pay taxes. You claim that few capitalists have a heart and empathy, yet they ALL also pay taxes, and for some reason this does not count in your eyes.

You are no different than anyone else, get over it.

*No I don't chase money lowing ...
*No I don't hold my finances as more important than other human beings, if I did I would chase money ...
*No I didn't use paying taxes as proof ... it was brought up as ONE example of how government charity is paid for with the taxes I provide ... and again I didn't use that either as proof for having empathy but as an example.
*I have responsibilities yes, but that doesn't exclude having empathy for other people ...
*And in my eyes if your hunt for money is more important than the well being of the community you are indeed a greedy capitalist and lacks empathy ... I classify myself as a socialistic-capitalist aka capitalism with a conscience, money is important but not that important ...

^^ All this have been explained over and over again and yet you fail to understand the nuances ...

Do you have a job?
Do you seek raises?
Do you seek promotions?
Do you seek to improve your financial situation?
Then you my friend, chase money. Nothing to be ashamed of. Just stop kidding yourself into thinking you don't, that somehow, you are above it all.

Yeah ya did use you being a tax payer as proof of your empathy, why do I say this? Because it is the ONLY example you gave of proof. Then you condemned all other capitalist tax payers ( except a few) as being heartless and greedy.

Empathy is cheap talk as I have shown. We move about our daily lives not really giving a shit what happened last night anywhere else in the world. Nothing in our daily routine is going to change because someone found out they are dying. We will not miss a step, or raise an eye of concern over those we do not know. We will not take the day off while we ponder the misfortunes of others, or even try to help. We will mull around our day saying we care, but not really doing shit to help. Just like everyone else who are not involved.

Empathy is cheap talk with no action, apparently, for no other reason than to make ourselves feel better, without actually having to act on anything. We say we care, therefore we must care.  Pat yourself on the back Varegg, you taxpayer you, you have done enough, you "said" you care. Now go bask in your self proclaimed superiority above the rest of us that live our lives EXACLTY as you do.

You're helping her get through college! And at the end of the day, isn't that the finest form of charity? Helping a slightly over weight, meth addicted 19 year old get a degree?

It has nothing to do with empathy, it does show however, you chase money. This somehow is your yardstick for a lack of empathy for everyone but yourself.

If you say you do not seek to better your financial situation through promotion or raises at work, then I will just call you a liar. Everyone that works wants more for their efforts.

Yeah ya did, already quoted you saying all but a few capitalists have no conscience. All but you of course.

Sorry Varegg talk with no action is cheap talk, but I forgot, you pay taxes therefore you are empathetic. B.U.L.L.S.H.I.T.  and you give no other examples of your righteousness other than being a tax payer

I have eyes Varegg, you are no different than the rest of us. Haiti happened, where were you? Did you take time off of work and cry because you "felt their pain"..Nope, nothing changed in your life because of it. You really need to stop kidding yourself into thinking empathy means anything other than cheap talk to those that need action and not your fuckin pity, as you step over them on your way to work, in your effort NOT to make money and better your quality of life for you and your family.

I suppose in your eyes, as long as ya FEEL bad, then you are worthy. Feel bad and pay your taxes that is.
