there would be more trust for the genre of games2movies if the directors, plot writers & producers were more game enthuists

its hard to toss a project in someones lap that doesn't have the love for the project

I think once we see the next generation of directors and such, then we will see better quality of games2movies and comics2movies

Only watched 1 and two, the first several times.
I enjoyed them pretty much. Nothing like the games though, which wasn´t a problem for me cause I never played em.lol

I see making a game2movie can be difficult ......... you got a 10+hour game that you're trying to cram into a 2 hour movie

they don't want to invest into a trilogy bc if the first flops then they are shit out of luck on the next 2

Halo ( if they follow the books for the 1st trilogy ) has potentional to be a incredible movie - if Microsoft backs with the production cost and say Legendary Pictures ( Batman Begins & Dark Knight ) handles the disturbution and overseeing - Bungie and Eric Nylund over see plot and scripit and Peter Jackson directs .................. you could be looking at an epic movie ................. also the 1st set of trilogy base off the books and the 2nd set of trilogy base it off Halo 2 & 3

And then you have games like MGS4 that are both games and movies!

A halo movie would be good but long... or might leave out some much-wanted parts.

But Halo combat evolved was awesome too. Especially for audiences who hadn't played the games. The flood would come as a surprise.

I want a Splinter Cell movie with George Clooney.

..Provided they can perfectly dub over Michael Ironside's voice.

theres alot with the halo universe they would either have to just mention real quick or just skip for theater time .... but on the directors cut for blu-ray, go all out and have everything on there

kinda like they did for LOTR

have you read the Halo books  (The Flood; First Strike; The Fall of Reach)

it does an excellent job with getting into halo and all the way up to and in the 1st game

InFamous is a game that feels like a comic book, so it wouldn't be too hard to adapt to a movie

Probably. Never played it, but read the reviews. Its like a more toned down yet hero/villain version of prototype.

Uwe Boll is game enthusiastic. I just can't stand to watch his movies.

Street Fighter (1994) has cheese, but it's a cheese that gets better over time. Same with Mortal Kombat. Tomb Raider and Resident Evil are acceptable if you overlook plot differences, as is BloodRayne (despite my above post) if you approach it like a b-rated movie that has nothing to do with the game. If you can overlook the vaaaaaaaaaaaast irrelevance of the Mario movie to the series, then it's a good popcorn cheese flick.

Of the videogame->movies I can think of, Hitman was the best. We'll see how Prince of Persia does.

Oh, and still haven't watched Doom.

Rather mediocre, standard horror flick. Not so close to the games either.

But the first person sequence goes down in the history of awesome!
Worth to watch for that alone.

I know it isn't. I was a real Doom fanatic, which is the main reason why the description on the back of the box put me off.

THIS?! That isn't at all like Doom. It's like on the easiest setting. What's with the zombies that just stand there and cackle at you? Why don't the zombies have guns? Why is the pinky a cyborg? Why do the imps (if that's what they are) look like that?

The cinematography for that scene was pretty cool, but that was NOT Doom.

It really depends on the game and also the director of the movie with budgets and the actors but overall they have been getting better over time...

Chronicles of Riddick (XBOX) was better than the movie itself. Xmen origins- Wolverine too.. everything else is complete and utter trash.
