You realise you don't have to use it ...
yes but that doesn't mean I can't complain about it
but I want to use it, I just don't want it going to my wall.
That is the whole idea of the Like button. Whatever you Like appears on your feed.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

The purpose also goes the other way - people looking at your feed see what you like, but people looking at the object also see how many people like it. Latter good, former not so much as far as BF2S goes.
I'm saying it should just be separate from facebook.

Just a thread rating system, then
There might be some options on fb to stop external sites publishing your Likes ... I don't really know how it works.

The problem is that even if I don't use the like button, other people will, and they can come here and find out who I am. But I guess the chances of that happening are much slimmer since none of my IRL friends are facebook friends with BF2s'ers.
Seeing how many people like something bothers you but your ok with other people seeing what you like?Flaming_Maniac wrote:

Is it just me or does that sound incredibly self absorbed?

You could always delete the post on FB. It's not like you're going to like hundreds of threads..

I must not get what you are saying then. It sounds like you're for ignoring the group whilst promoting your own interest.

You still have it completely backwards. Former = people seeing what you personally like on your personal page = bad. Latter = seeing aggregate likes/possibly who exactly like it on the specific thread = good.
Why yes, yes I do. You spoke of the latter first .
My confusion. It's kinda understandable

Latter: belonging to a subsequent time or period.
But you spoke of it first in your judgment "Latter good, former not so much as far as BF2S goes."

Former refers to the first thing you said, latter refers to the second thing you said, nothing to do with time references silly.
lol.. this is ridiculous. The "second" thing would be "after" the first, a time period. Take it up with websters.
