How far do you go when it comes to customization?

I can't get enough of it. I spent way too much time on Rock Band making a group of complete goofballs and strange-looking people. I hate wrestling (WWF, etc.) yet I loved WWF War Zone for the PS1 and Smackdown Here Comes the Pain for PS2 because you could create your own wrestler, set up moves, and even play around with the entrance sequence. And here you can tell I had a bit of fun with Saints Row 2...
Next month (I think) a PS3/PSP game called ModNation Racers is coming out. It looks very kid-oriented, yet I'm excited for it because you can create your own racers, cars, and tracks.
Basically, the more customization available, the better. But even when the only option is to change the color of your character's armor or some minor detail like that, I'll always do it. I want someone or something unique or different. I'm sick of blandness or being generic.
