Yeah but you get a ASUS / Gigabyte for that

Besides.. I will never go Dual since I'm not gonna fork out that much money on GFX cards

I put Gigabyte on top, even though I don't own a single one.

Why? Because I've never seen any other motherboard manufacturer over-size the CPU power supply so heavily. Most of their new boards could push way over a kilo-Watt into the CPU.

Second in my list is ASUS, then ASRock (beacuse even if they aren't the best-performing or highest quality boards, they give you better price-performance than any others on the market do). Then comes MSI, from whom I once swore never to buy another product from, (yet did again today today, I'm a cheap fuck), and all in a hunk at the last place comes the mainland China manufacturers; Jetway, Zotac, ECS, Biostar and Foxconn to name a few. They often use generic China capacitors all over, which WILL result in the boards failing rather rapidly.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

The Classified is the best board for i7 atm. Muli-GPU or not.

If you want the best, you'll have to pay for it. I'm happy with my vanilla P6T.

now let's get back on topic and bash MSI a little

You get me every time Maxxie

I don't do Overclocking, so I'd just be wasting money on anything better than the Rampage III GENE

And it's mATX so you can do a tiny power-pc on it :3

I went with FoxConn for my latest i7 system. The price is decent compared to Asus or other premium mobo brands. Also you may not get all of the bell and whistles but I normally do not use all of the features. my only problem with this mobo is it runs alright as long as you have the right power supply, even though it suppose to be backwards compatible to older ATX power supply version.

Other Mobo I have owned were:
MSI 939 socket CPU: which are good, easy to manage for non-over clockers, and found no problems with it

ASUS SLI 939 socket CPU: enthusiast board need to do your homework to find the optimal settings

DFI - meh the board died out on me

Abit - decent and innovativing but went through a lot of BIO updates for bug fixes and hardware support.

I've got a new (well, everything is new in my system) Gigabyte GA-MA785GT-UD3H.

Fantastic board. Dual BIOS, supports crossfire, integrated HDMI/ DVI interface for Full HD 1080 Blu-ray playback with HDCP, DDR3...

All for $100 AUD

Well I've had good personal experience with ASUS and Gigabyte... Can't really comment on any other brands as I've never strayed from those 2

I used a Gigabyte for my machine, I love the BIOS on it.  I think I put an ASUS in my brother's computer, that's pretty good too.  I used an Elitegroup for my mom's computer but apparently the mobo was already dead when I used it.  I'm stayin the fuck away from them and advise everyone else to as well.

You should see the latest EVGA digital PWMs. Classified is case in point. Dual 8pin power connectors just for CPU and manually adjustable PWM frequenzy.

The Gigabyte in my newer computer is in its last throes after 2 1/2 years, but when it worked, I loved it. ASRock is definitely a good price/performance call, too (though it should be considered low-end ASUS rather than a separate brand.)

AS Rock & Abit is some of the worst I've tried...

I had MSI in my old PC and honestly.. that was better :<

Well Panz & Co. comparing EVGA X58 SLI Micro and ASUS Rampage II GENE (which are equally priced)

The EVGA just cannot compete...

The only feature it has over the GENE is SLi (which is useless to me)

Cannot compete? What exactly in the ASUS one is better than the EVGA? (SLi is not a negative thing)

Jetway - shit
Zotac - have both good and bad
Intel - stable but limited OC/tweaking abilities
Supermicro - shit
XFX - good, but watch out for nVidia chipsets (they suck)
