RTHKI, you're interest in Autechre surprised me. I thought Uzique was the only other one.
On a side note, last.fm needs to make it so that if you check the listeners section of an artist, your friends will show up first.

Of Autechre? I just started listening to them after Morpheus posted Nil in the what are you listening to thread..
Haven't listened to too much so far but love Nil the most.
They arent available on Zune and uni bottlenecks torrents to like .1KB/s and since my hdd crash i forgot how i got around it.. so all i have are youtube recordings

I edited some footage from an old 80s documentary and put Autechre music to it. Been uploading to YouTube the past few days when I had the chance and no one else in the house needed the bandwidth. But these files are fucking huge So shit probably won't be ready to go until this weekend unfortunately. Have 16 GBs to upload (13 or 14 files, and right now I'm doing the 4th).

Yeah, they can be very hard to get into. A lot of posh kids love the glitchy annoying superfast drumbeat stuff that just shows how good they can program (like you said), but doesn't actually demonstrate anything very musical. Which is why I'm a fan of their older stuff mostly, back when they could be melodic. Although their latest album seems like a return to form and has pulled off some great stuff (and the album before was ok, a mix of stuff I hate and stuff I love).
Here is the post I was looking for. At least give that stuff a shot. It's much more melodic and accessible.
And hey, I even managed to get Spark to pick up one of their albums
