Started off as Assault, then I went through a Medic phase, currently playing Engineer most.
Played Assault the most so far though, by quite a bit.

Started off whoring the medic kit, but for the past few weeks it's been assault mostly. (Due to my love of C4)
I prefer engy, but I am starting to branch out
Recon, because I use sniper+rds or shotgun+slugs most of the time and the motion mine is amazingly good

I'm just starting them out and have been playing them evenly, starting with Engy, then Medic, then Assault, and now Recon. I feel the most comfortable with Engy so far.

recon all the way. nothing feels good than
1) doing headshots a mile away with bullet drop

All the kits are within 10k points of each other for me.

I've used mainly engy, the AT rocket is handy for when you come across a tank, and the repair tool is great for those inattentive snipers. Though I have had success with recon (shotgun + motion mine for CQC rape) and I have taken a liking to assault for it's ammo box.
I'm currently going medic as I want to get all the unlocks for each kit. A medpack near a squad member sniper sure will bring you in an ungodly amount of points.

Engy mostly. But lately I have been playing all of the kits to get all the unlocks.
