It's not just about top speed, it's getting there, it would take him 9.9 secs if they timed him running 100m at top speed yeah, but then again it would take Bolt a lot less than that too.

Walcott could have became a sprinter for the UK had he not chosen to become a footballer. I'm sure he would be up there with the proper training and whatnot. I think his parents were sprinters or something.

Yeah, but the way they're interpreting (wrongly) this is that oh he can run x speed, so we divide 100m by how many m/s he can run and get our time.

That's like saying the Veyron's top speed is faster than an F1 car so it could beat their lap times. We'll just ignore corners acceleration etc.

That list of fastest players is dubious at best, no Agbonlahor, Valencia, Ashley Young, Rooney. No way in hell is Campbell faster than any of those I just listed.

indeed, the ref was pathetic.
