sigh. tried each stick in slot 1, they all started memtest, which I guess means one of the slots is bad (slot 4 is the one that wouldnt even give graphical output)... which I guess means at least that slot is toast.

lol Bevo, pretty sure they must be populated in order beginning with the first slot. Not all the slots need to be populated, but the ram should go in sequentially.
