Trying to finalize my download of DiRT 2, it's been at "Download starting.." for about an hour.

I deleted my ClientRegistry.blob, but that didn't work. Can't start it without the update either. Halp?

Try just starting and stopping it until it works.

Try changing the download region from settings

I think they fixed it in the new Client update for Steam.

Holy crap, after 3 months of the game still not working, I found a solution when it happened for BC2, as well. Simply uncheck your Steam folder from Read Only

I've always had good luck getting my Steam downloads going by launching the game. Every time I do that it always starts DL'ing at full speed for me.
