The same thing happened when Rockstar Vienna got shut down.
Locks had been exchanged and security guards were preventing the employees from entering.
I thought this thread was about IW...why are we all of a sudden talking about prone/crouch sniping?

latest is that now 18 devs have now left IW to mostly join Respawn Entertainment
The US economy is a giant Ponzi scheme. And 'to big to fail' is code speak for 'niahnahniahniahnah 99 percenters'
Note to self, don't buy anything related to Respawn Entertainment.
Ditto.AussieReaper wrote:

Hey, free from Activision's "Make the same thing or else" attitude, they may actually make a cool game.AussieReaper wrote:

another 8 have left bringing the total to 26.

Unfortunately this means Respawn's first game is going to sell tons out of pity and not out of the actual merit of creating a good game.

still will be interesting to see what they come up with though
Activision didn't want them to deviate from the CoD1 formula tbh.Spidery_Yoda wrote:

They forced CoD2 to be a WW2 shooter, and not CoD4. That's how early the rift started. IW were also the ones who wanted to move toward consoles, Activision tried to force them to remain a PC focused dev team. Also, @ myself for constantly hanging shit on Activision when it turns out IW are just as bad.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
I think what I will find the most interesting is how the game is set up. If it takes the supposedly Activision pushed approach of $15 map packs of old maps, and other such dumb/greedy DLC packs, or if it will be a game in itself.mtb0minime wrote:

WoW has also had its first ingame DLC items (as far as I know anyway) in the last few weeks, I wonder if that had anything to do with Activision.
I know everyone (me included) loves to hate on Bobby Kotick and co, but honestly who knows if it is just Activision pushing this stuff.
Interesting. Doesnt Activision own/produce Guitar Hero etc? Guess they changed their minds.Flecco wrote:

Nah Activision seems to run different studios for different purposes. All about the profits.

Yeah Activision does but IW had nothing to do with it. I think the idea was originally to keep CoD in particular PC-based.TimmmmaaaaH wrote:
