In the recent light of the self proclaimed uber-trolls, i thought it would pertinent to dedicate an entire thread to them and their failure at something that isn't as easy as their simple minds would allow them to think.

You can't just troll here and there you know, it has to be a 24/7 masquerade. And to be fair i think you even miss the point of what trolling actually is. A troll cannot be contributary to a forum community, it exists to incite annoyance, hatred and provoke emotional responses and dispair at the expense the main community base.

And to boot, trying to troll the bf2s community? Yeah maybe two/three years ago it was actually a successful occupation to troll these here boards, but now? I think not.

Im quite grateful I dont understand it all really. Im a bastard for staying on topic I know but I never go out to derail on purpose. I know 99% of the stuff I write is shit, but you all saw my serious side yesterday. I dont mind harmless fun but I do mind people going out of their way making threads which they know will get closed. Im obviously biased cos I love the guy but I didnt think Camms thread yesterday was going to get shut down whereas I always knew Rush's thread would. Thats the difference in my book.

Some people here may like that kind of thing but to me it isnt big and isnt clever and thats only in regards to the bit I do get.

Thats a great point. I still lol at this trolling idiot on youtube who replied to videos with 10 seconds of him making faces, and then people found his other account, where he was trying to make serious movies, and smashed him to bits. Delicious

Anyway, good trolls dont call themselves trolls, nor do they brag about it, nor do they say things like "lol i trol u". Subtlety is where its at, dudes

Anyway im fucking sick of the word 'troll'. It's thrown at anyone and anything on the internet nowadays, even if they genuinely support the opposing side of an argument

It has to be one of the most annoying things to come from the internet.

Last year, my friend and I 'introduced', I guess you could say, the concept of 'trolling' at school. Worst. Mistake. Ever. People intentionally misleading others for the mere fact that they can say they 'trolled' the other person. It snowballed and everyone started to do it. Now, when people hear things from others which they dont believe, they say 'oh you're just trolling me'. Its rediculous.

Although sometimes it can be funny, most times it is not at all.
