I indeed did miss that. But its no surprise, that fellow who flew his plane into an IRS building a week ago was seen as "patriotic sacrifice" in his eyes...eleven bravo wrote:

I will be on the right side of history, just like I was with global warming, and you can all kiss my grits.
so apparently the argument is... gore is a hypocrite therefore global warming is false?
good logic.
good logic.
The paradox is only a conflict between reality and your feeling what reality ought to be.

whoa, slow the Flo, ATG!
sorry, it was the 'grit' thing. anyways, no ones called me on my consumerism, so i say fuck carbon credits.

Absolutely sick, detestable, ineffective, sociopathic, and clinically insane. All solid words to describe anyone letting that statement out of their mouth without a gun to their head.ATG wrote:
The fact is is that the timothy mcveighs of the world do the job the courts and the politicians don't have the ballz to do and my God smilz on them.
The truly sad part is that not only does this line of thinking fly in the face of every level of basic humanity, advocating the spilling of innocent blood to propel political change, it is supremely useless. The people you idolize are the most impotent people in the world, sinking to base one-shot physical violence against people who can't defend themselves, people that politically serve to do nothing more than strengthen the system they are supposedly working against.
At least terrorism works. The people you look up to fail the test of the means and the ends. Pitiful.
Sorry, young sir.
But, if you can tell me what the consequences for the blatantly illegal acts of the ATF and FBI were in the aftermath of the massacre at Waco I will entertain your diatribe. I am open to convincing.
When the courts fail, when politicians fail, the media, the public. When they all fail together a dramtic statement has to be made.
There is always collateral damage in war.
What happens sometimes, is that the acts of authorities must be construed by thinking people as egregious acts of tyranny and indeed warfare and be met with acts of like mind and consequence.
And may God have mercy on the innocent, the pawns and the patriots.
Amen.

So just bc the whole world doesnt see the "injustice" but a select few do (mcVeigh, you, Stock or Stack w/e his name was) it gives them the right to do what they want to make a statement?ATG wrote:

You don't get it. You're like a little kid shouting "But it's not FAIR!" Fairness has nothing to do with it. Justice has nothing to do with it.
Someone blowing up a building with a day-care in it doesn't make them a soldier, it makes them a maniac in the eyes of the public, and that is the only thing that matters. Crazy people doing crazy things only scares people into the arms of their government that is trying to protect them from terrorism, not recognize terrorism from the government itself.
Even IF the motivation is pure and of sound mind, it is entirely counter-productive and therefore idiotic. Please, provide examples of how domestic terrorism has done anything constructive from any standpoint.
At worst insanity, at best stupidity.

The cops at Waco know what they did and they know what the cost was.
They will be less likely to be party to such illegal acts.
good enough for me.

Getting back on topic for a bit:
You have overlooked a couple of facts about this. Al Gore and his wife use their home as a buisness office, and have staff on site, so would use more power than a normal house. According to Snopes.com they pay an extra $432 per month to purchase power from Green sources. Apparently he claims that due to this he leads a carbon neutral lifestyle. According to the sources on Snopes he has taken into account the Carbon he produces from transport etc, and offsets this with green power.
It is also worth noting that during 2007 the Gores spent a crapload of money making the house energy efficient. This involved solar panels, geothermal heating and energy saving lights. So the outlook now would be very different.
If you need a source go to http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/gorehome.asp
There should be enough references there to keep you happy. Guess he is not a hypocrit or criminal after all. In fact it looks like he puts his money where his mouth is.
