Rumor has it there is an impending shortage of white cloth. The French government is on the verge of collapse.

Wow, fourth collapse in eight years. Pretty fickle panzies, is how it sounds.

Can't agree on Afghanistan so they take their ball off the field and go pouting home.

Pussies.
Yeah, pussies. Why can't they do like political parties in other countries, and just ignore the opinions of the voters who got them into office, so that they can stay in power? Who cares about the opinion of the public anyway?

The voters who got them into office weren't enough to give em a majority in the first place. The idea of a coalition with 3 or even more parties can be appealing but the reality of it just doesn't work in the long run.

Yes, that would be why we're talking about the collapse of the government, and not the glorious continuation of the government.

I don't know. With all the economic problems Europe is facing right now a strong government would probably be better than uncertainty.

I don't know.  Coalition governments at least provide more options than mine does.  Here, you're pretty much stuck with Democrats and Republicans.  You can vote for 3rd parties, but they don't stand a chance at winning bigger offices.

Granted, I sometimes vote for them anyway, since I often hate the big 2.

You're talking about options when you vote,i agree.
But having a majority in power becomes almost essential to get things done.

That's not how it works here.  We have a Democratic supermajority, but we still can't get shit done.

Also, filibusters usually ensure that little to nothing gets done by our government, except for things that pander to powerful interest groups.

Sounds an awful lot like the US government shutdowns under Reagan.

Well with only 2 you're always gonna have that problem. In most of Europe you have a majority party who finds support in others on their political spectrum when they can't pass laws alone.

Wilders also is a fierce critic of the Afghan deployment.

You know, I actually don't mind Wilders on a lot of things.  He's clearly prejudiced, but there is a certain method to his madness.
