OK..I had to reninstall bf2 because i was getting memory.dll sanity checks or some crap....i manually uninstall it...clean it from my registry...clean all temp files...clean all instalation files..clean my documents....for some reason when i try to install it in normal mode...i always get md5errors on multiple files...so..i decided to make a new administrator account...and try there....i manually uninstalled all traces of bf2 from my hd after each attempt...so..on the new account....tried to instal...same issue....tried my friends disc....same problem...so i clean up my hd again...go to safe mode....woooo hoooo...get it to load...now it wont patch up...and sf wont work at all either...so i tried to patch it to 1.12 then to 1.22 incrementally...i tried the full 1.22 patch....no matter if im in safe mode..or regular mode..i get patching failed....i did get it to look like everything worked by repeatedly trying to install the patch...finally it worked one time..but then when i started to play..the game would crash right after the map loads to join a game....WTF....oh yeah...and a ea tech support guy actually told me....im sorry, i have no idea how to help u.

PLEASE GUYS...TELLL ME U CAN HELP ME OUT...

oh..and my specs are
windows xp pro. x64 edition
amd athlon 64 x2 dual core 4400 cpu
2048 mb ram
(2) nvidia 7800 gt
direct x 9.0c

Edit: the guy in the link did a full HD format and reinstalled windows and it did jack shit..

Check you have the right drivers for your motherboard. The memory sanity error is usually caused by an incorrect sata driver. The only other thing i can think of is faulty memory module. try running memtest86 on it.

Had the same here,EA helpdesk really sucks, he asked me if i installed patch 1.01, when the newest patch was 1.2.

Reinstall windows and it will work. If it doesn't, you got a harfware problem.

I reformate every 6 motnhs. Even after 6 months I am surprised at the performance I get. I got the system down now. Back up everything on a secondary HD (I got a ton of shit). and reinstall. Just throw a movie on and install, updates, games, etc.

It is a PITA, well worth it though.

ok, i formatted my c drive...re-installed windows....got all my drivers working, and still no bf2. i still get the md5errors if i try to install it in regular windows...so i install it in safe mode...ok..that worked...i play one game of 1.0 and it crashes after 2 mins....so i reinstalled it again in safe mode...tried to patch it , patch failed...game doesnt work after splash screen..so i uninstalled it, manually...re installed in safe mode...and tried to patch in safe mode...patch failed....ive tried it at least 30 times now...nothing is working..and ea wont even email me back...i dont know what the hell i should do..i mean..i bought sf, eu booster, and an extra copy of bf2 and sf and eu for my other computer...which works fine..but i bought the extra so me and my gf could play at the same time...now this computer..which i paid an ungodly amount for..wont even run it...im so annoyed with ea right now...

oh..and also..battlefront 2 loads and patches fine...age of empires 3 loads and patches fine....its just bf2 that im having probs with....

Could you post the details of your mobo e.g make, model, revision, bios and chipset. If the games installs in safe mode this usually indicates a driver problem or software conflict. Are you running daemon tools as that can sometimes interfere with copy protected games. The other thing i would try is to remove the IDE drivers and let windows put in its generic ones not the ones that came with the mobo.

Let us know how you get on..

Another thought....

Does it do the same thing with both copies of the game or just one? You can install the same cd on both machines but on one of them you will have to run Battlefield2_code.exe and input the other cd key. ( in C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\Support ).

Have you ever tried the 32-bit version of Windows XP on that (really sweet!) machine?

The 64 bit version is sometimes causing problems, e.g. with EA downloader.

well..i had the game working before perfect..i uninstall..and now this..im begining to think its a ram error...but im not sure...because memtest86 doesnt work on windows64 ..

and to cmot.. i have a asus a8nsli premium mobo with 1008 bios version ... im not running daemon tools and i even get those md5 errors sometimes during safemode...but i can get it to work most the time...but once i do..it fails once i get it running after a few minutes...

Hiya. Did you try installing it with the cd you used on the other comp. If so and are still getting the error i would remove one stick of ram and try again then try the other ram module ( assuming you have 2 * 1 gig ). It would be very unusual if they are both faulty.

OK...went through each stick...found 2 that are error free...its running fine now
!!!

gonna replace the 2 sticks...hopefully they are still under warranty
