Engineer gets shotguns.
Recon gets SMGs.
Sniper out the door.
Assault gets an M79 with universal weapons so that he doesn't steal recon's thunder.

Which route is that, following the pipes, isn't that bit blocked off by all those concrete crates and shit (and you can't shoot your way through), unless you're talking about a route which diverges abit higher up the hill. I think I remember taking a slightly different 'road' route to the top of the hill once, but usually it's the standard route for me. But I can't visualise what route you're talking about...GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:

It never gets boring to take the T90 from the not so usual hill ride to the blackhawk and simply put buttfuck the defenders that run around in panic and suprised where the hell u came from with T90.
They do. The PS3 CPU is even better.FloppY_ wrote:

Removing the sniper class would get the same reaction as taking dedis from MW2, especially from the console community.Doctor Strangelove wrote:

What about CQB snipers?Doctor Strangelove wrote:

As fun as it is, in a setting that isn't World War 2 where using the bolt-actions with iron sights is some of the best gameplay imaginable, it is just not plausible. If you are given a bolt action rifle in a modern war, you'd expect it to have a scope on it.Finray wrote:

Shit I love bolts on CoD2. Something satisfying about putting a well aimed round into someone's head who milliseconds ago was spraying MP44 at me.Doctor Strangelove wrote:

Yeah I know I just thought it was a good analagy and wanted to post itDoctor Strangelove wrote:
And as for the first point, I've stated that already.
The TF2 sniper with the introduction of the Huntsman has been made more CQB and less campycampycampy.. but I see your point.Doctor Strangelove wrote:
I mean, even Team Fortress 2 has a sniper in it. And Valve themselves have made some not so subtle statements in their games that the sniper/camper is not a gameplay style that they like. And yet they still put it in their games because it's a very poor marketing decision to remove the sniper, even if it is much better in both long and short term for the game and the team-based shooter genre as a whole.

Well the huntsman sniper was more in the same vain as the CoD1/2/5 bolt action rifleman. He was able to preform the same role as a sniper, providing accurate fire, but he did it in a way where he was much more useful to his team and also much more vulnerable to enemy fire. That kind of gameplay is a very good thing, it allows a player to enjoy the rewards of skillful marksmanship, while both allowing him to be more focused on teamwork and increase his vulnerability.Finray wrote:

Personally I shoot the first barricades and drive up the small walkway in the woods.. (It fits like a glove)
A lot of army units have used the M79 again, same with the M72.Doctor Strangelove wrote:

Also parts of the game take place in South America where an M79 would not be hard to come by.

Last night i was playing as a defender and it was a full 12v12 match and everyone on my team was a sniper. Literally, everyone! And there i was running round as an engineer trying to blow the tanks up with an RPG...
The game lasted about 7 minutes... going through every single crate after the first 2 minutes... does not describe my mood!
