In your opinions, what is the best security software suite right now, and why.

Right now I am running McAfee Total System 2009. Works great I suppose, but the license is up in March, so its time to renew or replace.

Gimme some ideas please, and thanks.

ESET Smart Security 4 - Antispyware, Antivirus, Firewall, Antispam.

$60/year or $89 if you get a two year subscription.

Both my high school and college use it. I think it works great.

You allow your wife to have a computer?!?  Pfffft.  C'mon, who's fault is it that the computer is riddled with viruses and scented candle pop-ups.

Just slap AVG and Avast on there, set 'em to autorun and call it a day.

I want something with a decent firewall and parental filters ( so my kids can filter me ). I used to have Zonealarm, but it was a PITA when it came to port issues, Mcafee hasnt been bad, just wondered if there was something better.

But if I were to chose one, I'd go with AVG.

I just put Ubuntu on all the family computers.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Free software is superior.

Don't say that. If you look past the price, lack of software and the security issues, OSX is really a quite nice OS. I like using it, although I can't justify messing about with getting it to work on a non-Apple computer, nor can I justify buying an Apple computer.
