because they're easier for quick shots?

it doesn't really get in the way tbh

besides, last time my friend took the front sight off of his AR he had to take it to a gunsmith to get it mounted straight again

It is a good idea to have iron sights as back-ups.  Sometimes battery powered optics fail.
Co-witnessing (where the optic does not block the iron sight) is a preferred method.  When the optic goes out, simply aim with the iron sight.
We even have an acronym for it BUIS (back-up iron sight)

The front sight on that AR is also the gas block. If he removed the front sight he'd have to replace it with a gas block. Iron sights don't depend on batteries. When the batteries fail, you better have backup sights. Flip-up sights are good for a rifle with optics.

Edit: Raimius beat me to it.

But my dad got that one for slightly cheaper from a local dealer, who happened to be one of his good friends.
Some are pretty pricey, aren't AK's a little cheaper usually?

And is it cheaper just putting one together or nah?
It tends be cheaper just to buy one. And that hapens to be the best (most convenientl) place to mount a flashlight, especially with the picitiny rails we have.

1SFOD-Delta, that AR isn't completely zero'd yet, is it?

https://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss227/DeltaBF2s/IMG_5500.jpg

Looks like the holosight needs to come left 1/4 to 1/2 moa, and down 1 to 1.5 moa.
(Assuming true co-witness with the holosight and the iron sights, and that the camera taking the picture was within the parallex-free field-of-view cone of the holosight)

I got this:
https://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/acatalog/kwa_m93r.gif
It is only an airsoft/hardball gun since we have more sane gun-control here in europe

Gas operated, blow back, semi-burst-full auto, mostly metal...

Pretty neat imo

So how many murders related to firearms do you have in the US compared to countries with a ban on guns again?

And you still say that you own them to keep you safe? ironic...
yeah I realize that if you suddently ban guns in the US alot of them would dissapear into wrong hands, but imo noone should be allowed to carry non-hunting firearms outside of Police / Millitary duty...

("murders related to firearms" includes criminal on criminal/gang wars just FYI)
imo people shouldnt be allowed to drink or own cars that go over 100 km/h

i think we should just ban criminals, that should work right? banning it makes it go away!

First and last thing i will say about this, don't you think it's ironic when someone on this forum complains about firearm deaths and how firearms are bad? yet they all flocked to this forum because of a game centered around the use of firearms and killing?
