to make an amendment, three quarters of congress have to approve, and then send it to the states, where three quarters of states approve.

in 1992, it was amended to note what congressmen can make for salary.

in 1920, the right to drink alcohol was taken away (prohibition). in 1933, it was given back, by amendment.

I thought you couldn't 'delete' anything from the constitution (of the US) and that's why prohibition is still there just repealed in a later amendment.

you're right, i should say 'repealed'. a later amendment can in fact "delete" the force of law, but the text remains. nice catch Drunkface . . .

My teacher mentioned something about Ammendments making a Bill of Rights and something about Bill Clinton wanting to restrict guns but i'd rather have your opinion on a recent attempt to change the constitution where you could have spoken out against it

the first ten amendments collectively are known as the bill of rights.

the second amendment gives the right of individuals to possess firearms.

the rest of the amendments occurred to early for me to have had any chance to have a say - in 1971 the twenty sixth amendment made the voting age 18. even to old for me, you may want to ask Flaming_Maniac what it was like then . . .
