BF2S Forums Trouble with my PC

i dont know if its fixed.
i have to try it today after work.. but yesterday i had 1 round for 20 minutes without freeze.

my computer run for 5 minutes before i started bf2. after the 3rd or 4th 10-sec-freeze, i get a completly feeze and nothing reacts at the keyinput. so i have to press the restart button.

i changed no components and the cpu- gpu- and case-temperature is constantly.

idle:
cpu: ~45 degrees
gpu: ~40-50 degrees
case: ~30-40 degrees

during bf2:
cpu: ~50-60 degrees
gpu: ~50-60 degrees
case: ~40 degrees

the temp is abit high, but it should still run. My P4 3.2 runs at 36c constantly, game or no game. Then again I have a cooler on my cpu the size of a comercial jet engine.

i'll look at it. cause my power supply inst really as strong as a nuclear power station (only 300W).
And u're right, it happens while playing Oblivion, too. although i play it with minimal settings.

But, its strange: i played BF2 for over 600 h with no such problems (all the same components). and i played hardcore grafical games like Doom3 or HL2, with no probs. this problem appeared 1-2 weeks ago..

no. GFX threshold is 115... my gfx was 108 once !!! was scary... if figured the fan wasnt working so i fixed it

Well i wont go on a rant about intel being far supeior as a brand to AMD. Hold back Hold Back....


But i will give you the lo-down.

300w PSUs do not put out 300w. there are exceptions of course. Good Reliable (expensive) brands will put out the advertised Wattage rate. Your 12v rail could be a bit low as well. An underpowered PSU is a total pain in the ass.

Since this problem started acting up recently, it could be failing hardware. Do you have any error logs, or minidumps (recent) that i could inspect?

And do you dabble in P2P stuff? If so, you might want to consider some form of infection.
Try this program here. http://www.ewido.net/en/download/ We use it at work (800 PCs) and it does wonders. Also if you could post a HiJack this log, after the prgram has been run, I could look at that as well. Please Post the hijack this log as an attachment, or PM it to me, as we dont want that to clutter the thread up.

I think i mastered the problem...
it was a defect memory-block. since i took it out the game worx fine without freezes.

glad to hear u fixed it, i was gonna say about ram had a guy come into my tech shop today and he had same prob, it was the flux in power that triggered his mobo mem to seize up, be careflu it dont happen again, if it does then u have a power prob and need to get a power regulator fast, glad i and everyone helped.
