No completely missing the point and stating it in such a serious way on the internetz leads most people to assuming you are a troll. Cause one canĀ“t be that stupid.specialistx2324 wrote:

MASTER TROLL TBH.
specialist, you need to play more games if you think the last few CoD games are so great. Seriously, you are missing out man.
Start with Dues Ex. Takes a while to get rolling but after a good 4 hours or so you'll have your first few truly epic augmentations and enough firepower to take on a platoon solo. Along with a light-saber, and the game only gets more and more epic as you go.

Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
I fucking hate it when people type Dues Ex instead of Deus Ex.

I realize a couple of my games are from 1998/9 I apologize for my transgressions. I just hope we can all move on in a positive constructive manner.
All I saw was MW and MW2.Miggle wrote:

Everything else just kinda blanked out after that.
@ Sonder, was just sayin bro. The only reason half my list wasn't N64 titles was that.

Well you can't fault IW for releasing shit games and somehow managing to break sales records.
Wait, I liked MW1. Okay, can't fault them for releasing MW2 and somehow managing to break sales records.

Going to an extremely competitive market with a much worse product and still managing to outsell everyone, that's an achievement tbh.Miggle wrote:

blame the gamers and reviewers
Going to a market where you can get children to buy your product by the millions with a few older than dirt marketing techniques isn't an achievement, it's just an opportunity.Finray wrote:

GTA 3 - Such a breakthrough game
GTA SA - Just immense
GTA IV - Quality, despite what the haters say.
Gran Turismo 3 (I'm tempted to say 4 instead, but I'd rather give preference to the revolution rather than the evolution)
Metal Gear Solid 3 (but not 4, or 2)
Call of Duty 1 + Expansion pack (UO)
BF2
Half Life 2 + Episodes
Timesplitters 2
Burnout 2
---
Only one of those games is current gen! (GTA IV)

If it had a colour it would be #5c5c5c
I appreciated the amount of detail in the game, plus the physics, it was all very well done. It was just a well polished game, with a good storyline, good gameplay, nice combat, nice driving, it all just clicked for me, one of those games where everything suits me great. Sure, it didn't have all the crazy shit or the expanse that San Andreas had, but it sort of grew up from that anyway, and so did I. Not saying I don't want something like SA again, just that, there's different things to explore before you get there again.
The PC version was fucked up, but I had it on the PS3 anyway.
I saw the game for what it was, instead of playing it and crying that I can't fly in a Harrier or use a hovercraft and how it all sucks. That's all typical internet crybaby shit, mainly people who refuse to grow out of that sense of awe they had when they played San Andreas as a 14 year old or whatever. People unable to accept growing up, I dunno, I'm not gonna try and psycho analyze the typical internet gaming community, that's one dark corner I'll never get stuck in

Driving.. yeah I'll give you that one. Physics, nah, anyone can do physics now-a-days. Valve got it perfect over 5 years ago with HL2. Storyline was boring as shit. Combat was alright at best. The only thing it had going for it in my eyes was the multiplayer.Mekstizzle wrote:

I really can't excuse it for how much it fucking failed to work on PC. It's like Rockstar just went ctrl + c - ctrl + v. This is #5c5c5c btw.

HL2 physics were totally 2005. The ragdolls, the animations, yeah, not quite. If you think Valve got it spot on 5 years ago, well I dunno, this place always wanks over Valve/Source, I'm not going to get into that shit.
I'm one of the least Valve/Source fanboy people on the forum, but you can't fault their Physics engine. As for GTA IV person Physics.. well..Mekstizzle wrote:

source uses havok.
Valve didn't make havok.
Valve didn't make havok.
The HL2 physics engine is just weak. It's just ragdoll without any animation, all typical 2005 era, literally, floppy ragdolls, not behaving like how it really would. The GTA IV one, there's animation to go with the physics. There's abit more life to it, abit more mass to things. You can produce even stupider shit with the HL2 engine if you really wanted to.
HL2 does alot of things, but it does it all in an half assed bygone era style. Yeah, I've played around alot with things like Gmod and shit. But really, the only thing to talk about is how flexible it is. The Source engine itself is dated. Despite what they say about its flexibility/modularity.
People need to just get over Source already. Even the Frostbite engine is better than Source, as is Crytek or whatever it's called. Especially in the sound department (Frostbite, that is).
I know they use Havok, it was used much better in other games, like AoE III

Mek, I lay down my King. You produce a good argument. Maybe I just don't like GTA IV.
