I never got around to posting this, but my friend, Corban was killed by a drunk driver yesterday.

I lost a good friend in a DUI car crash. He was responding to a domestic disturbance and was hit directly in the driver's side of his Chevy Impala patrol car while rolling through a 4 way stop light intersection. My partner and I were not even 5 minutes behind him.

The driver of the truck was ejected and died on impact. My friend Sgt. Taylor died 2 days later in the hospital. He left behind 2 daughters and a very loving wife. The dirtbag left behind 2 children and his wife, that incident would have been his 4th Dui which in my state is a Felony and he'd lose his ability to drive for the rest of his life.

I mean really 4 Dui's before a felony?

First DUI, no victims: Suspension of license for a year
Second DUI, no victims: Revocation of license for two years, impounding of car
Third DUI, no victims: Permanent revocation of license, if possible then the person should be unable to get a license in any state

First DUI, injured victim: 5 years in prison minimum, permanent revocation of license, impounding of car
First DUI, killed victim: 25 to life, permanent revocation of license, impounding of car

People simply need to be responsible. If you plan on getting drunk, go to the bar by cab or public transport.

hell, I used to give people rides home when I was a Deputy, I'd rather waist county gas and county time giving a few drunks a ride home then have to deal with the aftermath and the pain in the ass that is processing a DUI.

Yeah she was incredibly full of life, she was never sad and people turned to her to make them laugh. She was quite artistic and was in theater, I don't remember if she drew the tattoos that she had and had them professionally done, she probably did, I never got around to ask.

Still in Car Accidents like this one, I'd like to know what happened. Whose to say that the driver of her car didn't cause the accident?

Sorry for your loss, but in the picture it looks highly likely that the driver was in the left hand lane and could have moved over to right with out looking.
