Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

8.5/10

I loved the hangover, but this is now my favourite vegas flick, the acting is out of this world, the film is so unique and it's a fun ride all the way. The first 20 minutes I culdn't figure out what the fuck I was watching, but then I realised how the film was meant to come across....probably would have been better to read the book first but nvm.

Nah, it's a peculiar film and wont appeal to a lot of people, it's probably more understand by those who were in their 20's in the late 70's and early 80's (not that I was).

Underneath all the buffoonery, there is a tragic tale in the film and subtle messages that some people may miss, maybe you should give it another try, I certainly enjoyed it.

the original book by Hunter Thompson was a must read for me by a high school English teacher. The movie was off, there were some good portrayals, but didn't quite capture the story.

I was really, really high which may have affected my review somewhat, and since I don't really know what happened meant that I didn't suffer the clichés that the plot is supposedly full of. The CGI was incredible, and I could have just stared at some of the scenes for hours, especially those cool orange butterfly things. The floating mountains were also fucking cool.

1 and a half hours of reasonable entertainment, nothing that gets you on the edge of your seat, and there's some similarities to irobot, but the ending saves it from a lower rating.

Good idea, perhaps a bit rushed, pretty forgettable.
