So Rephlex records (the sacred home of Aphex Twin as well as 90's electronicas finest and most influential acts) have just redesigned their (well old) website and have completely redone their releases section... with a few Xmas surprises! New remasters of the classic Aphex Twin AFX-Analord vinyl series, and - FUCK YES! a new 2010 album by IDM's new wonder-child, Wisp! Their artists and releases section shows off a fine array of IDM's finest and most weird, experimental and underground talent. Rephlex and Planet-Mu is where it's at, fuck Warp Records! I'm really psyched about this, just bought the Wisp album-- the best Xmas present ever, as far as music is concerned!

Seriously, though. People that aren't electronica-mad probably won't 'get' it. But the works of Aphex and his label mates is some of the most boundary-pushing and complicated electronic works ever. The Analord series (the stuff notably available on the Rephlex site) is very chilled out acid stuff, but in general these nuts are always showing off just what the limits of electronic music can do. Impressive, virtuosic, inventive, mind-opening. Have had a love affair with the entire scene since I was old enough to have an interest in music, and I hope I can spread some of my fervent enthusiasm around to you guys.
